Hello, is anyone due to start IVF In June? My consultant has put me forward to start IVF, my next appointment is April 26th and if I start on long protocol I would start stimms late May and egg retrieval would be mid June. Would love to hear from someone on the same path!

lostworkerbee · 01/07/2017 23:03

Oh hooray Laura! Congratulations. That's such a good line xx

Katherine - I spoke to my friend. She asked if you were on the oil-based injections? If so, she said she doesn't have much advice I'm afraid. She said she couldn't cope with them and so changed to a liquid based one which could be given with a much finer needle. And also in the tummy or top of thigh. So maybe worth asking your clinic if you can switch? I think probably more expensive though.

And thanks Veinarde. Getting nervous! xx

thevox · 02/07/2017 07:51

Wow! Just checked in for the first time! Congratulations on all the positives!!! Great news! Hope everyone is keeping well and more to come in the next few days I hope.

I had a wee scare on Friday night I had some pink/brown discharge not a lot but freaked out a little. It's died down today so I'm going to call the clinic in the morning and see if they can bring my scan forward to check everything is okay. Phoned Nhs 24 and they said to just wait and see. Had nothing today so really hoping everything is okay, anyone else had experience of this?

Xx

Blueberry1 · 03/07/2017 10:05

So many BFPs on this thread! Congrats to @macarena1980, @veinarde, @lauralife, @thevox, @lostworkerbee Flowers Flowers Hope I didn't miss anyone out.

I had egg retrieval on Friday 23 June, 7 eggs, all fertilised via ICSI, 5 "excellent", 2 "very good", 3 made it to 5 day blastocyst stage & were frozen. It seems my egg quality isn't too bad for an oldie Smile. We were considering PGS (I'm 41, DP is 50), but decided to take our chances with the 3 frozen embryos.

Now waiting for cycle to return to normal to do FET. How long did others find it took for AF to return after egg retrieval or did you all do fresh transfer?

lostworkerbee · 03/07/2017 15:46

Hi Macarena - imagine that was pretty scary, but I think it is quite common in the early weeks. Promising that it has stopped. Did you speak to your clinic today?

Mrs Darcy how did your progress scan go today? Fingers crossed all well and they have booked you in for ec on Wednesday.

Hi Bluebell - that's great results getting three to freeze. Afraid I only have experience of fresh cycle

I feel so bloated today - maybe more than I have throughout the whole process. Anybody else got this? No other real symptoms but guessing it is probably too early.

MrsDarcy4092 · 03/07/2017 16:01

Thanks lostworkerbee.
My scan was good, I had 14 follicles today
Right side 8,10,10,10,16,17,20
Left side
10,12,13,13,14,18,18
So looks like 6 mature eggs but they have given me a slightly larger trigger to boost smaller ones and egg collection definitely weds.
Oh and my lining was 15.1!

Macarena1980 · 03/07/2017 16:40

Spoke to the clinic today and they said it was all pretty normal and not to worry unless it became heavy or painful. So feeling much better now, it would have to happen at a weekend.
Great numbers bluebell and Darcy!

I've been feeling bloating through the whole process, think around the time first got my positive was particularly bad, so sounds like a good symtom! Xx

Xx

Blueberry1 · 04/07/2017 09:27

@MrsDarcy 14 follicles is great. I had only 9, 7 of which yielded eggs. I had to keep going several days longer than expected with injections (450 iu of Gonal F; horrifically expensive Shock) in order to mature them, but it was worth it as I ended up with 7 mature eggs all of which fertilised. Keep it up!

@macarena - I understood some minor spotting is quite common in early pregnancy, so nothing to worry about.

katherine7172 · 04/07/2017 10:00

Hi all, just checked in to see all the positives! Congratulations to all, wishing you all a happy & healthy 9 months Smile Flowers

Well I should have never tested early
... 5dp5dt transfer we had a squinter, day 6 a bit more visible, day 7 a definite faint line was there, day 8 morning test was the same as day 7 but the afternoon test was the strongest one we had (still not that dark), day 9 came and the line was lighter & clear blue digital said not pregnant, now on day 10 the line has returned to a squinter.

Not the birthday present I wanted but it looks like it could be a chemical pregnancy maybe? Sad We've decided not to touch a test till OTD this Friday, so that we can spend a few days processing. Then we'll just take one on Friday before we ring the clinic, just to confirm.

I'm not going to lie, we feel absolutely distraught. I think this is going to take some time and we need to figure out what we want to do next, as we only have one frozen and we would not have it covered in funding this time. Lots of decisions to make but, I guess there's no rush to make them right now.

Just want to thank everyone for their support, advice and help throughout this process. You've all been lovely Star

Good luck to all who have transfers planned or who are still in their 2ww, keeping my fingers crossed for you all! X

thevox · 04/07/2017 11:02

Oh Katherine, I'm so sorry. Take some time before you decide what to do need, like you say, there's no rush. Maybe that blasto that's waiting for you is meant to be the one.

I've been at the hospital today, as i have moderate OHSS. I need to do a daily injection for at least four weeks - so much for being done with needles! Also have to go in every two days, and if i get any worse they'll admit me. So I'm going to have to juggle all of that alongside the usual early pregnancy woes! Hopefully it will all be worth it.

Avocadosmoothie · 04/07/2017 11:10

Oh Katherine, I'm so sorry to hear that!! At least you have that frozen embryo to go back to instead of the next step being another round of ivf. Will be thinking of you Flowers

Vox, are you in much pain? Have you been off work? I hope you're feeling better soon!

As for me, I've had a bit of cramp every now and then and sore boobs but I get both before AF and I also had both between EC and ET so I'm not sure it means much. I am thinking about testing tomorrow which will be 7dp5dt, what do you think?

OP posts:
lostworkerbee · 04/07/2017 13:35

Oh Katherine, I'm so sorry too. I was really hopeful for you. I can well imagine you both feel distraught and as others have said, make sure you take some time and talk things through with your clinic. I will keep everything crossed for you. Flowers

Thevox - I'm sorry to hear about your OHSS but I guess good they are keeping a close eye on you. Have they said how long it can last or when you can expect to feel a bit better?

Avocado - I think that sounds reasonable to test tomorrow but I have very little will power when it comes to these things and have to stop myself buying tests too early so I literally can't test! When have your clinic told you to test? I did mine three days early at 8dp5dt

Good news Mrs Darcy. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Have you got some time off work afterwards?

thevox · 04/07/2017 14:51

Avocado I tested 10dp5dt but I got a strong line, so maybe it'll show up earlier. If you can wait just a few more days you'd get a more definitive result!

No idea how long the OHSS might last, but the injections are for at least 4 weeks, so I think I am in for the long haul. I know it can last the whole of the first trimester. Just hoping my little blob is going to be able to hang on while my body is under the additional stress. I've been working, but I am really struggling with it. Sitting down all day is making me bloat loads more, and I am just so tired! All good practice though I'm sure.

Rooting for you MrsDarcy!
