Hello, is anyone due to start IVF In June? My consultant has put me forward to start IVF, my next appointment is April 26th and if I start on long protocol I would start stimms late May and egg retrieval would be mid June. Would love to hear from someone on the same path!

Thanks all. Feeling much better today. Had my progress scan and
This morning my lining was 9.1 and I had 10 follicles, 5 on each side.
Right side - 9,9,9,11,14
Left side- 13,11,10,9,8

Scan on Friday will determine if egg collection will still be Monday or moved to weds. I remain on 300 menopur.
Long way to go but I'm happy 😊

thevox · 28/06/2017 10:46

Hopes I felt rough for quite a few days after my retrieval - it wasn't OHSS but a combination of having a lot of eggs collected and not getting on with the medication they prescribed to prevent the OHSS. Everyone is different, but if you are worried ring your clinic for some reassurance. It took me 5 days to feel relatively normal again.

I am 6dp5dt today and I feel like I have been hit by a bus, everything hurts! I had such a strong pain my shoulder last night I couldn't get comfortable to sleep, but my stomach and chest are also really sore.

I think I am going to cheat a bit and do a test 10dp5dt as it sounds like other clinics do this. I'm impatient!

Hopes2bmom · 28/06/2017 12:41

Ladies I'm feeling so down and disappointed, got a call from embryologist, out of 20 eggs only 14 were matured and only 6 fertilised so it's less than 50 percent😒 I kee the fertilisation will be low as my dh has severe mfi. But the fertility count is very low and in addition it's not gonna be fresh transfer and it will be fet. Feeling very low. Just hoping that we have something to freeze for our fet

Avocadosmoothie · 28/06/2017 15:21

Hopes, 6 fertilised embryos is a fantastic result considering severe mfi. It's probably even higher than average? I'll keep my fingers crossed that they grow for you!!Flowers

Hi guys, I am officially in the TWW! My OTD is July 11 but I'm thinking of testing July 7 as we go to a wedding the next day. That would be two weeks after EC and 9dp5dt, what do you think?

OP posts:
Hopes2bmom · 28/06/2017 18:04

Hello Avocado,

That's a great news, congratulations on your transfer! Fingers crossed for you! So how many made in to freeze excluding the one that they have put in?

Avocadosmoothie · 28/06/2017 18:16

Thank you! I had one 5AA hatching blasto which was the one they transferred. We've frozen six so far but the embryologist thinks we'll have another couple to freeze tomorrow but won't know for sure until tomorrow.

Did the ET process make anyone else feel a bit cramps? During and straight after.

OP posts:
katherine7172 · 28/06/2017 20:43

Avocado - That's all of our 4's OTD! I think 9dp5dt would be earlier enough to get a result, seems to be from what I've read online. How are you feeling post transfer? Ours was hatching too when they transferred! 6 frozen is a great number, congrats! I didn't have any cramp like feelings till the following day, I was just weeing loads for the rest of ET day.

A couple of questions for everyone (may be blonde questions)...

  • I'm now 11 days past our trigger shot, I had a reduced Pregnyl shot, only 0.3ml. Do you think this would be out of my system by now?
  • What are the rules on sex now? This may sound random, I know it said in my diary given to me by the clinic about not having sex between collection and transfer. (Which to be honest I couldn't think of anything worse, as I was in agony for a few days there!) I've read online that you shouldn't during the 2WW, which I could understand why. But then I stumbled across someone saying you shouldn't till 12 weeks pregnant and I was in a bit of shock?! So slightly puzzled, anyone know the answer to this? Confused
Avocadosmoothie · 28/06/2017 20:56

Hi Katherine! How are you?

I'm pretty sure I will test next Friday. If it's negative, I have my best friends wedding the next day to cheer me up. The problem with the wedding is that if I get a BFP, it will be obvious to all my friends I'm pregnant and I didn't really want anyone to know until after the 12 week scan.

The best way to describe how I'm feeling physically is bruised. Did you have that? The doctors who did my internal scans during injections were so gentle but for transfer I had a male doctor and just felt like he was a bit rough. I felt upset after it, it was pretty uncomfortable but think I'm just being emotional. Unexpectedly the worst part of the whole process for me so far.

I would have thought the trigger would be out of your system by now. Are you thinking about testing?

I'm not sure on the rules about sex but I would guess it's absolutely fine. I wouldn't want to whilst I'm still taking the progesterone pessaries, they are so gross!!

OP posts:
Veinarde · 29/06/2017 11:53

Hi ladies,

Hope you are doing well! The weekend is almost here!

I wanted to ask if any of you are taking any medicines other than progesterone pessaries during 2WW? I am already planning my FET, in case i am unsuccessful. I heard some ladies take prednisolone. Did your doctor recommend any other medication?

avocado I also felt the transfer was very uncomfortable for me. I guess because there is no pain relief. Hope you feel better soon xx
Congrats on freezing 6 blastocyst! amazing result

katherine my nurse said a week off sex from the transfer day is recommended. it's probably due to the fact most ladies will still be sensitive or sore... i don't think there is any medical reason for not having sex for longer than that!

hopes sending my best wishes for your 6 embryos to develop well!! xx do you hear back tomorrow?

hope everyone else is doing well!
MrsDarcey, good luck with the scan tomorrow xx

Hopes2bmom · 29/06/2017 12:02

Hello Veinarde,

I get back on day 4 only which is Saturday. I'm freaking nervous until then. Fingers crossed

Regarding Predinsolone, I have been taking it since cd1 stopped now as this cycle is over and we are doing freez all. My doctor put me on 10 mg (very low dose) of it because my uterine biopsy test came back that I have slightly elevated natural killer cells which might prevent implantation.

Avocadosmoothie · 29/06/2017 12:22

Veinarde, do you know how soon you would be able to do a FET?

Has anyone looked into natural v medicated FET?

OP posts:
katherine7172 · 29/06/2017 12:27

Hi Avocado, I'm good thanks a little impatient but good. Yourself?
You'd have to drink clear drinks and lie and say there's vodka in them or something, if you wanted to keep a secret. I'd imagine you'd be too excited not to tell them all though! Smile
Sorry that you're feeling bruised Avocado! I didn't feel bruised or anything, I had a female doctor who was very good in talking everything through and really slow and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Only things that made me feel uncomfortable was my terribly full bladder and the fact that a male embryologist was stood at the bottom looking through a hatch, it all felt very bizarre. Especially after being out cold through the whole of the EC.
I can understand why you wouldn't want to with the pessaries, we've not had to have those. I'm just having the muscular injections and I have to take tablets 3 times a day.

Veinarde - Thanks for the advice, I might leave it till after the OTD and ask a nurse when I speak to her for the all clear.
I'm currently on these medications during my 2 week wait...

  • Prontogest (Progesterone) 100ml intramuscular injection
  • Prognova Estradiol Valerate 2mg tablets 1 tablet 3 times a day

I may have caved today and tested on 5dp5dt, I'm not sure if my eyes are tricking me or there's an extremely faint line there...
I did use a clear blue test though and apparently first response early response are the best ones to use. So I'm going to stock up on them and see how I get on.

Avocadosmoothie · 29/06/2017 12:41

Oh Katherine that's exciting! It sounds promising! Do you think it was a positive? Send a pic!

I'm feeling better today but will dread have to have another transfer again. I really didn't like the doctor, I hope I don't get him again!

OP posts:
katherine7172 · 29/06/2017 13:04

I'm too scared to at the mo! I took a clear blue and I keep seeing everywhere how awful they are and now I'm debating that it's an evap line. It's so light you can't see in a picture and it's only in certain lights you can see it, which makes me think it's an evap even more.

Going to have to test it out and pray it gets darker!

Was he really rough then? Were you in pain during it?

Avocadosmoothie · 29/06/2017 13:14

I'm not sure if I would call it painful, but it was v uncomfortable. Compared to the sonographers he was definitely a bit rough!

Just had a call from the embryologist and they managed to freeze another 2 blastos so I have 8 in storage now.

OP posts:
katherine7172 · 29/06/2017 13:20

Well at least it's done with now I guess, fingers cross you don't have that doctor again!

That's amazing Avocado, great number for storage! Congrats Smile

Hopes2bmom · 29/06/2017 13:22

Avocado, I just had a discussion about my fet, they prefer medicated. I am taking a small break as we are planning to travel out of country and after all these I want to give it few months.
They said I should start a pill call cilest start of a bleed continue for 3 weeks and then stop, I will get one more bleed in a week's time after stopping pill the from cd2 of that cycle I will be monitored with blood and scan while taking oestrogen tablets then when the lining is good 5 days of progesterone suppositories and then trnasfer on 5th day, fairly simple.

Avocadosmoothie · 29/06/2017 15:03

Hopes, so does medicated just mean with oestrogen tablets and progesterone pessaries? No hormone injections?

OP posts:
Hopes2bmom · 29/06/2017 15:14

Avocado, I think yes. Haven't gotten my complete fet cycle plan from my Re though. but the nurse told just this, only progesterone and oestrogen are needed for the uterine lining.

Avocadosmoothie · 29/06/2017 16:06

Was anyone very bloated the day after ET? I am probably more bloated now than I was immediately before and after EC.

OP posts:
lostworkerbee · 29/06/2017 17:55

Ooooh Katherine, that does sound promising! Are you testing again tomorrow? I am too scared and feel too normal to get excited. Going to hold out til next week I think.

Hopes, so sorry it hasn't worked out for a fresh cycle this time and that you have to wait so long for an update on your embies. I am sure some time out and a nice trip will be good though ahead of fet.

Avocado - congrats on 8!

Hope everyone else has had a good day xx

Macarena1980 · 29/06/2017 20:08

Avocado, that's great news!!!

Katherine, that sounds pretty positive! If you want to try a pink dye test the Superdrug ones are a bit cheaper as you'll probably want to do more, if your anything like me!

Hope everyone is well!

Xx

Lauralife · 30/06/2017 10:39

How exciting Katherine! Are you planning on testing each morning from here out? Half of me wants to test asap and the other half of me wants to leave it as long as possible just incase it is negative!! Dp and I are discussing maybe testing on monday (9dp) at the moment.

Macarena - I've bought some of those superdrug ones! I've heard they are quite sensitive. If you don't mind me asking - what we're your symptoms during your tww Macarena?

Afm - since Wednesday all af type pain stopped with me and I just feel like my normal self now. I've ordered a bunch of different preg tests that are due to arrive today.... I hope I don't cave in and start testing!

Xx

Macarena1980 · 30/06/2017 11:20

Hi Laura, my symptoms were v similar to the way I feel before my period so felt a bit crampy, had some twinges which felt like stitches at times. My boobs felt a bit sore and my nipples got much bigger and sensitive. Also had a bit of creamy discharge sorry TMI! Guess it's different for everyone tho. I'm sure 9 days will be safe to test. Good luck!!! Will keep my fingers crossed!

Hop everyone else is well!

Xx
