Hello, is anyone due to start IVF In June? My consultant has put me forward to start IVF, my next appointment is April 26th and if I start on long protocol I would start stimms late May and egg retrieval would be mid June. Would love to hear from someone on the same path!

We've just had our call too. 5 embryos is now 6 (apparently 1 was a little slow) and they are all growing well so we're also scheduled for transfer on Saturday. Nerves are shot!

Lauralife · 22/06/2017 13:22

Bee- fantastic results and that's so great about the extra embryo! Hopefully that one will be a little fighter! The waiting is so intense isn't it ?... I really wish I could fast forward these next couple of weeks! Do you know when our test day will be? I'm guessing 3rd of July but I'm not positive that's correct. I didn't know about acupuncture with IVF, what a good idea for stress relief.

I'm going to try to take some time to rest for awhile after Et I think, small walks, more protein, fuzzy socks etc and just take the rest as it comes. The warm feet warm uterus sounds interesting katherine hopefully the little heatwave we've had has helped us with that!

Veinarde- Regarding the implantation tips, I'm just trying to look at them as little extras but not essential iykwim? I would have thought/hoped if it were essential our clinic would tell us to include it!
I know its hard not to worry about IVF not working, when I feel like that it helps me to just focus on whats happening right now. Keep it in mind that you've done everything you can at this stage (injections,ec,pessaries) and try your best to distract yourself by doing something that you enjoy. (I've been watching my guilty pleasure tv series PLL on netflix on my rest days, DP hates the show but I like watching it and it takes my mind off things!)

Best wishes everyone

X

Afternoon! I had my transfer today, so I'm joining the 2ww club Veinarde

It was also the first time we got to know how our 11 fertilised eggs fared. 9 blastos! They have popped one back, frozen five, and they're watching the other three as they're a bit slower and then hopefully freeze them tomorrow.

I will try the pineapple and the socks too! It's all worth a try Grin

lostworkerbee · 22/06/2017 15:10

Laura - my clinic have told me 16dp ec for testing, so that's the 5th. Not sure I'm going to be able to hold out that long! And not too late to start acupuncture - I find it really relaxing, which has to help, right?

Amazing results thevox, that is seriously impressive! Fingers and toes crossed for you.

xx

katherine7172 · 22/06/2017 18:40

Hi all :)

Veinarde - Found sleeping a bit uncomfortable last night but, not in nearly as much pain as yesterday, just uncomfortable from the bloating (don't think the heat helps with that though!) Good to know someone else is using the embryoscope, are you having the glue as well? That's great that you've had one selected! The embryologist have said that there's 4 that are looking the best at the moment, so I think they are waiting till day 5 to chose one.

Lauralife - Congrats on your 5 embryos growing on target, are you excited for the transfer on Saturday? Not sure how true any of them are, but willing to try anything. With this heat everything being warm won't be hard, haha!

lostworkerbee - Glad you're feeling better! I had my OHSS monitoring at the hospital this morning, had my blood taken, was weighed, had my tummy measured and they looked over my fluid tracking sheets. The nurse seemed alright with everything, which made me feel a lot more relaxed. They said that if anything bad came up from the blood test results they would ring us today, we've not had a phone call, so feeling more positive that we might be able to do a fresh transfer on Saturday. I have to go back on Saturday morning for the same tests for the OHSS and after that they'll make the decision on whether to freeze or transfer that day. Praying everything goes well! Congrats on the extra embryo, hope your transfer goes well on Saturday :)

thevox - Congrats, that's amazing! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!

Hope I've not missed anything! x

hello ladies ,

Had my scan today after 7 days of stims, total of 21 follicles out of which 4 are 7 mm and all others are 14-15 mm, they said the response is good and I'm Triggering tomorrow night , and Monday is egg Collection, it's all happening so fast, does this look okay I'm so scared 😲😲

Hopes2bmom · 23/06/2017 09:04

Sorry gonal f , luveris until tomorrow

Avocadosmoothie · 23/06/2017 13:12

Hi everyone! I just had my EC and collected 22 (you were so close with your guess Scottish!). The embryologist said I might have a lower than average rate of fertilisation because quite a few of the eggs were small and probably not maturely. I'd love to get around 10 fertilised but we'll see. So happy wth the result because my clinic has a policy that if you retrieve 25 or more eggs, you have to have a freeze all cycle and at my last scan I had 35 growing follicles so knew this was a very realistic possibility.

Who is next for OTD?

Hopes2bmom · 23/06/2017 14:33

Hello Avocado,

Great results! One question, what was the range of the follicle length(the biggest ones) on your last scan and when did you trigger after than scan? Trying to correlate, today morning most of mine were 14-15 mm after 7 days stims. I will take my injections today night and tomorrow night and I will have my trigger injection on Sunday. Earlier the plan was to trigger tomorrow but got a call from clinic now, based on my blood works today, the oestrogen , progesterone and lh are all slightly low so they said they can afford one more day for them to grow so that the smaller ones can catch up. So I have ec on Tuesday. I'm worried now because only 4 were around 8-10 mm today other 17 were 14-15 mm. So not sure if those will be over mature by Tuesday.

Avocadosmoothie · 23/06/2017 14:58

Hi hopes! I had my last scan on Wednesday and did the trigger that night. I had 14 follicles between 14mm and 20mm (only one at 20mm) but obviously a few more much have developed a bit between Weds and today. So I think your results sound fine and you have nothing to worry about 🙂

OP posts:
Avocadosmoothie · 23/06/2017 15:00

My estrogen was 7475 on weds if that helps

OP posts:
Hopes2bmom · 23/06/2017 15:14

Thanks avocado, since I am going to be drumming for today and tomorrow and ec is on Tuesday, I just worry if those eggs would be over matured which might cause fertilisation issues, my clinic knows it better, I will stop worrying. My estrogen was 5500 today

Hopes2bmom · 23/06/2017 15:15

That was a typo error. I am going to be stimming today and Tomorrow 😃

Hopes2bmom · 23/06/2017 15:31

And ladies one more question, they had asked me take pregnyl for trigger, but they told me to lower the dose, one part liquid and one part powder, for the first time I heard the word 'ohss term' scary! They said you need to lower pregnyl dose to avoid ohss, did anyone had this kind of lower dose of trigger, advise please.

katherine7172 · 23/06/2017 16:01

Hopes2bmom - I was originally supposed to take pregnyl as my trigger, due to having a lot of follicles they changed it. So in the end I was told to take a lower dose of pregnyl 0.3ml and to also take Buserelin 0.5ml, which they had to give me as I didn't have it in my medication bundle. They did this to me due to the risk of OHSS.

Blueberry1 · 23/06/2017 16:25

Hello ladies, may I join? I am an oldie (41) & we are trying for #1. DP has teenager from previous relationship, but I don't have any kids. Wish I was younger, but didn't meet DP til I was 39 & we started TTC when I was 40.

I just had egg retrieval this morning. 7 eggs were collected (Dr expected 3-8) & ICSI will be done today with DP's sample. If I end up with 2 or more good enough to transfer I'll be happy. You younger women have much better chances than me...

We are paying everything privately as wouldn't qualify for NHS treatment. We paid up front for 2 full rounds (doesn't include medication) and I wouldn't want more anyway.

I took Ovitrelle as trigger shot 2 days before egg collection. I was slow but good responder, so no danger of OHSS, but had to take higher doses of Gonal F than foreseen & for several days longer (wallet says ouch!).

Fingers crossed for BFPs for those of you in 2WW!

Hopes2bmom · 23/06/2017 18:23

Hello blueberry,
Welcome and good luck!

Thanks Katherine for the info. As per earlier plan I was supposed to takes 10000 iu that's the two portion liquid, now then have reduced to 5000 that's is 1 part liquid+1 part powder.

Avocadosmoothie · 24/06/2017 09:47

We just had a call from clinic, 15 out of our 22 have fertilised normally! The embryologist said 5 day transfer is now more likely for us than a 3 day transfer but we will get an update call on Monday (day 3). Exciting!

Is anyone due to test this week?

OP posts:
lostworkerbee · 24/06/2017 09:58

Great news Avocado!

Welcome Bluebell! Good luck for your call today.

I'm on my way to transfer. Quite nervous. Good luck to everyone else who is having et today.

And I hope everyone is well xx

Hopes2bmom · 24/06/2017 10:38

Wow avocado, amazing numbers, good luck to you!👍
All the best lostworkbee

Hopes2bmom · 24/06/2017 10:39

Avocado how many embryos are you plannng to put in? My clinic allows only one for my age and other criteria, I wanted two though

Veinarde · 24/06/2017 11:01

hopes2bmum that's great number of follicles you have there! Good luck with EC next week xx

avocado congrats on the 15 embies! How are you feeling today?

blueberry welcome! Fingers crossed you will have a good number of blastocyst for the transfer x

lostworkerbee good luck with the ET!!

Good luck everyone else having the transfer today!

As for me, nothing to report, I have absolutely zero symptoms. I feel nothing at all.

Avocadosmoothie · 24/06/2017 11:44

Thanks everyone!

Veinarde - how many days past transfer are you?

I'm expecting to have just 1 embryo transferred which is my preference. I guess it depends on the gradings when the time comes but I'm not sure my clinic would transfer 2 because I'm 30 and this is my first round.

OP posts:
lostworkerbee · 24/06/2017 12:48

Embryo is on board! Amazing seeing it beforehand and watching it being put into place...if a little surreal.

It doesn't look like we'll have any to freeze - other blasto wasn't a sufficiently high grade to survive the freeze/thaw process (they did say we could put it back today as well but we were too nervous to go for two). One other looked promising but was a little behind, so they'll call me tomorrow.

Trying to stay positive. They said this one was very good - 5AB - and we had every reason to be optimistic.

How did everyone else get on with transfer today?

xx

Lauralife · 24/06/2017 14:34

Hi all, I'm now in the 2ww club! Just back from transfer, one embryo put back in 5aa or 5aaa I'm not sure what the embryologist said now, I was so nervous/excited! He told us he plans to freeze another grade 5aa/5aaa and the next grade down. The last two are blasts but slower so they need monitoring for longer.

Bee - congrats on your transfer, I did think of you this morning, our cycles are so similar. Fingers crossed these next two weeks fly by for us!Smile It is crazy to watch the screen isnt it? Dp took a photo (I'm really hoping that will be our baby's first picture). The nurse also told me afterwards strictly no testing until 7/7/17so I think I will have to wait a little longer than thought . The wait is going to be so hard!

Avocado - excellent number of fertilised embryos! It will go fast now. The wait until day five went faster than I had anticipated.

Blueberry- welcome! Hope you get a good number of embryos!

Hopes- all the best for your upcoming ec! Before I started ivf I thought twins would have been amazing and my clinic allow patients 2 but strongly recommend a single transfer for safety reasons. I went with a single transfer to cut down on these risks. If you have the 1 transferred there is still a chance of twins - a friend of mine had 1 embryo that split and she gave birth to twin girls.

Best wishes to everyone.

Xx
