Hello, is anyone due to start IVF In June? My consultant has put me forward to start IVF, my next appointment is April 26th and if I start on long protocol I would start stimms late May and egg retrieval would be mid June. Would love to hear from someone on the same path!

Laura it sounds like we're on the exact same mess and timings too ... (Sorry, lots to read and catch up on!)

thevox · 16/06/2017 10:11

Good luck today Veinarde - hope your EC goes really well. I'm prepping for mine tomorrow, positive vibes all round Smile

Was anyone else given Diclofenac suppository before EC?!

Avocadosmoothie · 16/06/2017 12:55

Veinarde and vox, which day is your EC counting your first injection day as day 1? Just asking you two as I think we are most similar in protocol.

Good luck today Veinarde!

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry I've not been on for a few days, things have been a bit mental since I've been back at work, but it's kept my mind of the wait which is good.

So much happening with everyone! Hope everyone is well with stims and scans not long now for most of you! So exciting!!!

Scottish I'm so sorry! It must be hard, your right to feel positive about things as you have great Frosties and I've read that FET have better sucess rates often! Xx

Veinarde hope today went well, like Scottish said I had 10 eggs but only 3 fertilised and all made it! So higher numbers aren't everything. My consultant asked me to stick for an extra 2 days to allow my smaller folicals to grow as I only had 3 big enough, this did give me 10 eggs but only 3 fertilised so mustve been meant to be. Xx

As for me! I've had sore boobs and a crampy tummy so v confused as this is how I feel before my period, however, I went to buy tests tonight after work, and could'nt wait so took it and it's coming up positive. Not as strong a long as the control but defo there and within 3 mins!!! I'm trying not to get excited as I did take Ovitrelle 125mg on the day of egg transfer 9 days ago, as well as before my EC. So conscious that it could be this. But feeling positive. Smile. Bloods on Monday. Going to do another test in morn to see if it's darker. My husband is going to kill me as we promised not to till tomorrow! 🙈

Xx

Scottishgirl85 · 16/06/2017 19:32

Congratulations macarena!!!! Soooo happy for you!! I had a good feeling about you, especially since I had a negative so thought the next person would have a positive. I don't think trigger could still be in your system, so time to get excited! And could be twins too! So delighted for you xx

Macarena1980 · 16/06/2017 20:47

Thank you! We're a wee bit scared to really believe it yet. But really hope it is! Can't even think about if maybe being twins yet until we know if definite. Never thought I'd say this but hurry up Monday! This is driving me nuts! Xx

lostworkerbee · 16/06/2017 21:07

Oh wow congratulations Macarena! Everything crossed for you for Monday.

I'm all set for ec on Monday. Using pregnyl for trigger at 10pm on Saturday. Still not sure how I'm going to do that whilst at a gig...

Hope everybody else is well and had a good day xx

Hopes2bmom · 16/06/2017 21:32

Congratulations Macarena!!!

Scottishgirl85 · 16/06/2017 21:45

Lost, it is a bit fiddly if it's like ours was. You mix the powder with the liquid using a large needle, then switch needles for injection. Also ours had to be kept at fridge temperature. Not trying to worry you, but just make sure you have somewhere safe and private to go. You don't want to be interrupted!

Avocadosmoothie · 16/06/2017 21:50

Congratulations Macarena, that's amazing news!!!! X

lostworkerbee · 16/06/2017 21:59

Thanks Scottish, it's an outside gig and we can take a picnic so planning to keep it in a cool bag. And then just find somewhere quiet at the right time. Not ideal though Confused

Scottishgirl85 · 16/06/2017 22:08

Ah, that's definitely doable, I was imagining you in a dark club with that crazy dim blue lighting in the manky loos, lol! Top tip then, just get yourselves settled somewhere with plenty of time to go so you're not rushing. Good luck!!

katherine7172 · 17/06/2017 08:33

Thanks great news Macarena, very exciting! Let us know how you get on on Monday, keeping everything crossed for you :)

Lostworkerbee I also have egg collection on Monday, my trigger is pregnyl too so think we're on the same timings.

I had a scan on Thursday, they wanted me in again on Friday. Got told on Friday that I'm at risk of developong ohss so, they've lowered my merional dose from 150 to 75. Think I'm at a higher risk due to my age and my pcos, feeling a little worried about it. They've asked me to come in for another scan today, we're just on our way now. So hopefully everything goes okay and ec can go ahead as planned on Monday!

Hope everyone is doing okay with everything :)

Avocadosmoothie · 17/06/2017 09:39

Hi Katherine, how do the doctors know you are at risk of OHSS? Is it number of follicles or estrogen levels they look at? I have my first scan tomorrow and am interested to hear their thoughts on OHSS likelihood for me!

Good luck wth the trigger!

Veinarde · 17/06/2017 10:36

Hi all! Thank you so much for your kind wishes Smile I am in total shock - they collected 16 eggs yesterday, 11 have fertilised as of this morning! EC went fine, I was given opium based drug for pain relief and felt so happy and amazing while watching EC on the screen! Grin It hurt for few hours after and today I feel like nothing happened! Apparently risk of OHSS is still there, I will be going back for a scan on Monday and they will make a decision whether to transfer or freeze all.

Macarena what an amazing news! Congrats on your BFP! Flowers i hope all goes well from now on as well xx
katherine lostworkerbee lauralife good luck on Monday! Hope EC goes well xx scott did you have the EC scheduled already? All the best xx
thevox hope your EC went well! We are waiting for a positive report from you! :)
avocado how are you doing? Good luck with the scan, what day are you on? My EC was on day 10 of stim.
scottish I am sorry you were not successful this time, I am sure you will get your BFP soon Flowers

Veinarde · 17/06/2017 10:37

Sorry if I forgot anyone, have a lovely weekend Flowers

Scottishgirl85 · 17/06/2017 10:43

Great veinarde!! Your numbers are identical to mine. 16 eggs with 11 fertilised. Interested to hear you had no pain. I was in pain until day 3 and now wondering if my body just wasn't ready to accept an embryo.
Wishing your embryos to grow grow grow! 😁
Well done, you're almost there x

mynameisscott · 17/06/2017 10:54

Yay that's great Veinarde. I'm going in for EC on Monday, triggering tonight. Had follow up scan yesterday and my ovaries looked like Swiss cheese! Hopefully that bodes well for a few good eggs. X

Macarena1980 · 17/06/2017 11:13

Thanks everyone took a clear blue digital this morn and it said a was 1-2 weeks pregnant. 👍🏻

Still not celebrating till blood test comes back. Will up date on Monday!

Great news Veinarde!!! Sounds like everything went smoothly.

Good luck to All the Monday EC people!

Hope you are all well!

Xx

Avocadosmoothie · 17/06/2017 11:43

Veinarde - fantastic news, glad the EC was comfortable for you! How are you feeling physically today?

OP posts:
Veinarde · 17/06/2017 14:17

Scottish ha! So similar! Let's see how many I have left to freeze, I am hopping for 4-5 good ones. :)

How interesting, we've done both IVF and icsi fertilisation: 8 eggs fertilised via IVF and survived, 8 eggs fertilised via icsi, o my 3 survived.

I was in quite a moderate pain for maybe 3 hours after the EC, couldn't move. They gave me paracetamol which eased the pain. By the evening I was fine. Today it is such a lovely day in Oslo we have been walking for more than 4 hours, and I'm feeling totally normal. Going to have a glass of wine now with a burger, I hope it goes down well Smile
Have a lovely weekend back in the UK!

katherine7172 · 17/06/2017 14:24

Hi all 😊

Avocadosmoothie I was told before we began injections that I was at risk of getting OHSS due to my polycystic ovaries and as I’m younger than the average age for IVF. Also when they tested my AMH, I was told that I produce a lot of eggs. So they were aware of it all the way through, think that’s why I was on what seems to be low dosage stimulation meds compared to a lot of other people.
Veinarde Thank you 😊 Didn’t realise you could watch on a screen, did that not freak you out?

Looks like me, lostworkerbee, lauralife and mynameisscott are all triggering tonight for EC on Monday, how exciting!

At my scan today I was told I am now high risk instead of a risk, which has me a little worried. I was supposed to have Pregnyl as my trigger tonight but, the doctor has decided to change it. So we’re doing half Pregnyl and half Buserelin, we’ve got to do it at 10 past midnight (I’ll be half asleep by then!)

thevox · 17/06/2017 17:47

Hi All,

Lots of very positive posts, which I like to see. Glad your EC went well Veinarde, and congrats Macarena!

I had my EC this morning under a general. I've never had one before, but I wouldn't worry about having one again, it was lovely! I dreamt too, and felt amazing when I woke up. Had some quite strong pain since, but I am pretty sure that's down to wind. Got to love that stims constipation Blush

They got 27 eggs today, which is great but I'm very worried about how many will be mature as I only had one big follicle on my scan a few days ago. It also puts me at high risk for OHSS now, so they started me on capergoline for the next 7 days.

Now to wait for that call tomorrow to see how they did, and to keep tanking water like they've instructed. 3 litres of it!

Avocadosmoothie · 17/06/2017 18:19

Vox, congratulations, such a high number of follicles! Must be so exciting to find out how many fertilise! Are you expecting to freeze them all or do a fresh transfer?

OP posts:
Scottishgirl85 · 17/06/2017 19:24

Great number vox! Hoping you manage to avoid ohss. Fingers crossed that a good proportion fertilise! x
