Would like to hear how others paid for their IVF. Is getting into debt for it a bad idea?

We decided to only do through rounds we could afford up front. Our first cycle, which has worked, was £7.5k. Currently 15 weeks pregnant.
we ha email a frozen embryo at our UK clinic, but will probably go abroad if that fails due to costs and a friends recommendations.

Ugh. Appologies for the errors in previous posts. Feeling grim so can't be bothered to re-write

Hi all,

We hope to start IVF in coming months. Just wondering if anyone had experience of using Access Fertility? I am 41 which means the programme we qualify for has no refunds. My partner has motility and morphology issues. Does anyone have an opinion on whether it's worth going for Access Fertility or whether we pay for a one cycle of IVF?

We got 1 nhs round which resulted in miscarriage and thankfully we had 5k saved so paid out right for a second cycle but pressure was on as it was the only money/chance we had… so very lucky she’s 2 next month 🧡 x

Hi @Lulu106. We bought the two cycle package with Access when I was 40, like you say no refunds. It was a big decision but in the end I felt like we had to hedge our bets and the second round was like back up? I’m glad we did it as first round didn’t work but the second did. And I think we would probably have ended up getting into debt for a second round as I wasn’t ready to give up after the first. Good luck, it’s so very hard x
