We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Morning All,

So the results of the second SA are in and it wasn't good news. We are being referred to the hospital on that basis, not sure how long that will take (DH didn't think to ask with all the info being given)

He's a bit gutted but taking it really well and I'm trying to be reassuring without being OTT. I've said we don't know 100% that there isn't any issues with me either.

So it's just plod on naturally until we know more I guess

X

Hope2409 · 24/08/2016 13:56

MrsRen sorry to hear the SA results weren't good. I hope your hospital appointment doesn't take too long. I really feel for you as our problem is male factor too.

When we went for our initial tests it turned out both DH tests weren't good and we were referred, he was gutted also and feels so bad. All you can do is try and be reasurring , it's no ones fault it just happens it could of easily been me with problems and still could be. You just need to stick together and talk to each other!

Having a s* day, one of my colleagues just announced shes 12 weeks pregnant and now its all everyone is talking about, wish they would change the record! Roll on home time!!!

Hope everyone is having good days in the sunshine! Xx

MPP81 · 24/08/2016 15:05

I'm sorry to hear that Mrsren. Do you know what the issue is? Is it count, morphology or motility? Is he on any supplements at all? My DH had a very low count, and we were also referred on that basis. We tried fertilaid countboost to try to up it. It didnt work for us but there are lots of great reviews for it online, and they have a couple of different ones for different issues. Might it be worth a go while you're waiting? I think it is tough to walk the line between being supportive and reassuring without being OTT. As Hope said, its no ones fault and I spent alot of time telling my DH that it wasnt HIS problem it was OUR problem. I hope you are ok.

Maple, glad the first injection mixing went ok!

Hope, Flowers for the baby bomb xx

Thinking of everyone currently cycling!

Brenna24 · 24/08/2016 15:23

So sorry MrsRen. I hope that when you get referred they will find a treatment that works with your issues. I know how badly men take this. It has taken 3 appointments for DH to be able to produce a sample to go for analysis - which finally went in this morning.

Un-mumsnetty hugs Hope. It is tough but we will get there eventually.

Glad everything went well Maple.

In our news DH's sample for SA went in this morning. Hopefully it won't take long to get the results back. I am just waiting on AF arriving, then leaving again, and then we can get back to it.

MrsRen · 24/08/2016 15:51

Thanks All.

We've got a morphology issue with a slight mobility issue, that's within normal but at the lower end.

I will look into those supplements thanks :-)

Maple you are brave - goodness knows what I will be like if I have to do that!

Oh hope that sounds awful :-(

Brenna fingers crossed for your SA

Lots of luck to everyone else.

X

Hope2409 · 24/08/2016 17:38

Thank you MPP, Brenna and MrsRen it has been a long day, glad to be back in the safety of my own home so i can feel sorry for myself and have my little cry in private!

My DH has been taking Fertilisan M supplements since we had his results a couple of years ago, at his most recient SA this year there was a significant improvement, still not as it should be but better than his results previously! Theres no way of knowing if it is down to the help of the supplements but they certainly arent doing him any harm and it makes him feel better knowing he is trying something.

Brenna fingers crossed for your SA

Xxx

Longleggedlovely · 24/08/2016 18:43

Hi all, just catching up on all your news. Hope everyone is doing ok.

I promise the injections aren't too bad, the thought of doing them is worse than actually doing them! I just took a deep breath and thought of my friends little girl who is diabetic and has to do it every day for the rest of her life and then it didn't seem so bad! I've don't it now for two cycles and our current cycle took 28 days to get to our iui so I feel like I've injected ALOT!

I'm now 11dpiui and so far resisting the urge to test tho it's been a long 11 days, roll on Saturday!

maplebaby · 24/08/2016 21:05

Mrs I'm sorry to hear about the SA results. My DH had slightly low morphology in his first so they ordered a second - he's been on wellman vits and at my IUI everything was really good (post wash) except numbers were low. It can change so much each time so it would be good to get him on the vits.

Brenna glad the SA went ahead! Hope you get the results soon!

Hope sorry for the baby bomb, it's really shit Flowers

Wow long how come you ended up injecting for so long??

LemonDrizzler · 24/08/2016 22:23

Mrsren sorry about the SA results.

Hope sorry for the baby bomb. I hate grinning through baby chat at work!

We were supposed to be referred for IVF over two weeks ago but they called today saying I need to have the rubella immune test again as it has to be within a year, even though exactly a year ago I was immune and as far as I know that can't change?! So now I need to get the forms and have the test then wait for the results which usually get lost before we can even get referred. It just feels like they keep moving the goal posts and we will never get there. :( All feels such an admin exercise and even though the doctor is happy to refer us the receptionist won't until we can tick all the boxes exactly.

Sorry for the rant! Hmm

Longleggedlovely · 24/08/2016 22:35

Maple I overstimmed on my first cycle so they cut my dose right back and did a long and slow atom process tinkering with my dose right through. The best bit about my 2ww is not having to go to the hosp every two days for a scan!

lucieloos · 25/08/2016 23:05

Long, you have been very patient waiting to test! I would have caved in ages ago.

Lemon, really sorry you have to go through the faff of the rubella test again when it's seemingly not needed. Hope they can get it sorted quickly.

Brenna, yay for getting the sa done. Any news on the results yet?

Mrsren, sorry the sa results weren't good. It was the same with my DH. I think our main issue is male factor but I also tell him my AMH is a little low so it could be an issue with both of us just because I don't want him thinking it's all him. It's good you have been referred though and can get things moving.

Hope, sorry for the baby bomb. There have been so many babies in my team lately I know how you feel having to sit there through all the baby chat feeling like the odd one out.

Banana, any news from you?

I have my first proper scan tomorrow. It's day 7 and I will have done 4 days of stimms so not a lot but still feeling nervous about what might or might not be there. Just want to get it over with!

MrsRen · 26/08/2016 07:11

Good luck Lucie :-)

bananafish81 · 26/08/2016 07:16

Good luck lucie!

Was gonna post an update when I could reply properly with personals

But yes scan was yesterday evening and things are looking promising! Dr is v happy where things are at - 6.2mm and is right on track where he would hope I'd be.

He wants to scan me and do a Neupogen wash on Sat morning - thinks we should be aiming for EC Wed/Thu/Fri next week. I think Friday based on the size of my largest follies - doesn't matter if they over mature anyway, as we're not trying to make embryos. Main thing is that nothing has zoomed off and ready to pop before the lining has had a chance to catch up - which it hasn't, as largest follies are 12-13mm. So we have headroom. He said if we were stimming me to make embryos then he'd up my stims to get more viable eggs to catch up, but as it is he's leaving me at 150iu to just let them chug along.

I asked him if he thinks we will make it to transfer, he said there's nothing that concerns him (yet). He said we can always add in Progynova on Sat if needed. Hoping the vag bullets will have arrived today - frankly they should be delivered by the Milk Tray man for what they're costing. I've been using oral viagra and the John Bowen v cream tampons in the mean time - might not have told my Dr I was self medicating with vag meds bought from a bloke with a Gmail address in Malaysia Grin

Long way to go but we shall see...

lucieloos · 26/08/2016 07:45

Haha aww that's brilliant news banana! That sounds very promising indeed. 6.2mm is a great number and you have plenty more time yet. I really hope this is it for you. I have a bad case of scanxiety this morning. It never gets any easier!

MrsRen · 26/08/2016 07:53

From my limited knowledge banana all sounds good, fingers crossed x

maplebaby · 26/08/2016 08:43

Good luck at the scan Lucie!

Banana that all sounds so good and your doctor really does sound amazing!!

Long gosh having to go in every 2 days for scans!! Hope the tww is passing by quickly!

No news from me, still stabbing and have my scan on Tuesday! Paranoid about OHSS - keep wondering if its that or food haha! I guess I would know if it was!

maplebaby · 26/08/2016 09:19

Oh I have a question - just got to work and went to the loo and when I wiped I had like clear cm - is this normal when stabbing?! I've only been on it 4 days!

Brenna24 · 26/08/2016 11:19

Banana, that is brilliant news. I am so happy for you.

Urgh, that is very annoying Lemon.

I have no idea how long it takes before the SA results come back. I am guessing they will post them, so probably not for a couple of weeks yet.

lucieloos · 26/08/2016 11:53

Hey banana, could really do with some advice. Had my first scan day 7 after 4 days of low stimms and follicles are good. 9 of them between 10-15mm so starting Cetrotide today but the lining is non existent! It hasn't moved since baseline scan and is still 3mm. They have basically said its early and wait until scan on Monday but if we are looking at triggering on Wednesday that's going to be too late to look to do anything. I'm thinking of starting estrogen tablets today to see if they will help. Do you know how much your doc would recommend?

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 26/08/2016 13:13

lucie sorry for quick reply without personals to anyone - just wanted to respond quickly

Great news on the follicles, so sorry about the lining not playing ball, I know how bloody frustrating it is!

Don't take any oestrogen for at least 36-48h until you've started the Cetrotide - see what your clinic say but I always had to wait at least 1-2 days I think for the Cetrotide to kick in. You don't want to start it before your pituitary is switched off because the oestrogen can intefere with the feedback loop and hinder the ovaries from responding to the stims.

I have always been on 2mg Progynova 3 x day - but never until the Cetrotide has had time to kick in. Xx

lucieloos · 26/08/2016 14:05

Ok thanks banana, just feel a little down at the moment. It's one thing after another. I can't see it thickening enough before trigger now. It's never been this bad before.

loopylou1984 · 26/08/2016 17:00

Just a quick reply to say

Banana - fab news on your lining! I'm very excited for you.

Lucie - sorry you're now having problems, I hope it suddenly picks up for you. Are you doing the hot water bottles/selenium/all the other home remedies? They might help you. Xx

lucieloos · 26/08/2016 17:12

Thanks Sammy, yes doing everything I can think of. It's so strange but nothing surprises me with this anymore! Maybe we might have more luck with a fet where we can concentrate just on the lining?!

Itsme, just wanted to say hope your scan goes ok tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.
