We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Hi everyone!

Sorry not much to report here either! Not feeling the brightest recently as I keep getting baby bombed (& although I'm very early on in my official referral journey I have been TTC for nearly 3 years).

Just irritated about how some people get the textbook big 4 bed detached house, big wedding and then instant baby soon afterwards! Don't get me wrong I'm not doing too badly but have worked so hard for everything and it's not straight forward having a baby either!

Fallen off the weight loss train too feeling a bit sad about it all and consoling myself in cake!

Need to get back to my happy and motivated self!

Hope everyone else is ok! xx

Paige43 · 18/10/2016 17:08

Hi everyone.
Maple I use CB. Got my surge on Thursday. Got another scan this week to see what's happening.

Star all the best for the wedding x

loopylou1984 · 19/10/2016 17:55

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok?

Trixie - did the cyclogest arrive?

Hope - I hope downreg is going well, how long are you doing it for?

Star - very exciting about your wedding, how are the plans going? I loved planning my wedding!

Maple - how was your follicle/lining looking today? I agree that getting the sperm in to the right place is a great thing, even with only 1 follie.

Welcome to all the newbies, and waves to my old friends.

Banana - how are things with you? Where are you in your plan now? Xx

loopylou1984 · 19/10/2016 17:58

Trixie - just seen your PM. Glad it arrived! X

maplebaby · 19/10/2016 20:48

Star ooo wedding planning! Not long to go until December now!

Hope good luck with this cycle and the downregging!

Lozza sorry about the baby bombs. They really do suck Sad

Paige good luck with the scan this week.

Sammy follicle was 19mm today and lining was 7.48mm.. they triggered and DH in at 9am tomorrow then I go in at 10:30am. Feeling a bit meh about it all but we shall see!

Hope2409 · 20/10/2016 22:29

Hello,

Lozza baby bombs do suck and it really doesnt seem fair how some people seem to get it all handed to them whilst others struggle, look after yourself xx

Thanks lucie, sammy and maple the down regging is going ok, i have a nasal spray which tastes vile but rather that than injections! Few side effects but doing ok, got to sniff for 3.5 weeks then start injections for 10 days, estimated EC w/c 21st Nov!

Maple i hope today went well xx

maplebaby · 21/10/2016 15:41

What's the nasal spray hope??

IUI went fine - DH count not great I didn't think but slightly more than what they were looking for. Test day will be day before a friend's wedding so I'll either be commiserating (most likely) or trying to figure out how to hide the lack of drinking! I'm very glass half empty about it all - TTC/infertility has made me bitter and negative!

Hope2409 · 21/10/2016 19:33

The nasal spray is called Synarel i think the ingredient is Nafarelin.

Maple glad the IUI went ok, i really hope this is the one for u!
I know what u mean tho about TTC/infertility making u negative and bitter, it is all consuming and impossible to be positive all the time especially when everyone around u seems to manage so easily!

Xxx

Raeside · 22/10/2016 20:02

Hi everyone - sorry been terrible at keeping up but hope you are all doing ok!

maple good luck in the tww - try to find positive thoughts to get you through. I do empathise; we start our IVF round on Day 2 of my next cycle, which is a week today. I can't help feeling we are just throwing money at an unsolvable problem but the hysteroscopy showed 'obliterated follicles' so any chances we have are reliant on science.

Bloody Nora!

Nasal spray doesn't sound too much fun, Hope ! Then again needles are no good either.

I had a scan on Monday for anyral follicle count - 5 on one side and 6 on the other - as an old lady of 42 is that any good?

beanhunter · 23/10/2016 09:54

That's a brilliant AFC. Mine is 9 at 34 and apparently "adequate"

Raeside · 23/10/2016 10:31

Oh really, bean ? That's great. Though my AMH is onky 8.8 so I guess I'm utterly relying on quality like never before as quantity is unlikely!

I've read lots of things bout what to do/eat/not do/not eat during stims. Is it basically stay booze and caffeine-free, keep sugar to a minimum, drink bucket loads of water, eat Brazil nuts and keep warm? That seems to be what's everyone does! The clinic didn't say much bar make sure I drink 2l of water every day.

I've no idea if I'm to stop my supplements, whether I can keep up with my swimming, etc. I should ask.

I feel so clueless.

lozza in surrounded by pregnancy at the moment, both family and friends. My youngest sister is about to have her 4th. It's tricky isn't it....

Lozza398 · 24/10/2016 12:06

star enjoy the run up to your wedding!

maple I know what you mean about the bitterness and I'm not even that far into the journey of it all yet! Good luck in your tww!

hope I hope you're managing ok with your nasal spray!

raeside from my limited knowledge that sounds really good! You're not old!

Paige hope your scan went ok!

Hope bean and banana are keeping well! And to anyone else I've missed!

AFM I'm doing ok! Still waiting on the SA appointment - frustrating how slowly things move! Getting better with the baby bombs - it's only the ones from people I know which bother me - work ones don't at all!

Hope this thread brings lots of positive news for us all soon xx

JustTrixie · 24/10/2016 16:03

Hi everyone Smile

Great to hear from you Star, glad the wedding preps are proving a good distraction - not long to go now!

Thanks again for the cyclogest Sammy, hope all is good with you and you too Lucie.

How long until test day Maple? fx for you!

All sounds good Raeside, best of luck with your cycle. And you Hope! Depending on when AF arrives I'll be looking at transfer at the end of November/beginning of December so will be just behind you.

I'm just back from a lovely break in the sun with DH. Had my scratch today so just waiting for AF at the beginning of November and then it is all systems go.

bananafish81 · 25/10/2016 00:25

Hi ladies

Been reading everyone’s updates quietly in the background, sorry to have been rubbish at checking in

trixie hope you had a lovely break, great news that you’ll be getting cracking. Remind me, are you doing a long or short protocol medicated FET?

star glad the wedding prep is keeping you busy, excited for you! Hope 2017 brings you and DH only lovely things

raeside that is a terrific AFC! Obvs as you know the biggest determinant of quality is age, which sadly we can’t do anything about. But having better than average quantity definitely helps in increasing your chances of getting the golden egg! Protein, protein and more protein during stims. ARGC tell their patients to drink a litre of milk as well as 2l of water. I never managed that, but they’re the top clinic in the country so I figure there must be something in it if they recommend it! The brazil nuts and keeping warm is mostly internet lore, nothing to lose though

lozza hope the SA appt comes round soon, I am more bitter than ever about baby bombs. All I seem to do is buy new baby presents. All my money that isn’t going on fertility treatment seems to be going on bloody new baby gifts

hope good luck with d/r!

maple keeping everything crossed for your IUI

paige good luck with your scan

Hope the grads lucie and sammy and others are all doing well

AFM I’m just spinning my wheels. The histology report from the hysteroscopy confirmed they had removed ‘products of conception’ :( But endometrium all clean and polished when the cavity was assessed before the coil went in, so we've started from a clean base. Last cycloprogynova on Weds so anxiously waiting to see if I have a bleed (and the coil has worked) or I don’t (and I’m basically stuffed).

Had a Skype consultation with a US Dr about surrogacy. Have set a limit of 2 more transfers before we call it a bust on my own body - if 2 more ET and no baby, that would be 4 chromosomally normal embryos that haven’t become people, and so we’d have to accept I can’t sustain a pregnancy. And that if my uterus isn’t up to the job, our best chance of having a baby is to keep out remaining 3 euploid blasts and transfer into someone else’s uterus. Desperately hoping it doesn’t come to that.

Raeside · 25/10/2016 07:35

banana will keep everything crossed for you on the bleed/growing a baby front. And 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 On your bravery for starting a concurrent plan even though it's not your preferred outcome. Kudos.

And thanks for the stims info! Christ, 3l of liquid a day including one of milk is a tall order. I've just done my first 24hrs sugar & caffeine-free. Hell. Surely the only way I can get through a litre of milk is if I can dip endless biscuits into it!!

hope may d/r be as straightforward as possible. I feel lucky I've escaped it by the sounds of things!

maple good luck and fingers crossed for your iui!

trixie yes all going well we will be in similar timelines - good luck!

AFM just waiting for af to appear. It'd be great if it came early as otherwise I have to try sneak to the clinic for scans and bloods in between longstanding visits with close mates. We aren't telling people so it's going to be tricky. Bit nervo bout mixing all the Menopur. Urgh.

Have excellent Tuesdays, all!

JustTrixie · 25/10/2016 16:01

Banana, I'm doing a short protocol medicated FET. Wanted to do unmedicated but that didn't work out so well for us....

I hope the consultation was useful, must be ever so daunting. I think that looking into various options helps, hopefully with everything that you are doing your next transfer will be successful but always good to have a back up plan. Do you know what you'll do re immunes this time?

Raeside, the mixing isn't so bad, you get used to it and become a pro pretty quickly. Well done on the sugar and caffeine!

I went to the Fertility Show in London last year and have been getting e-mail reminders that it has been another year and I am still without a BFP for this years. I found it really helpful last year, if only to realise how many people are affected, so worth checking out.

Hope2409 · 25/10/2016 20:13

Hello everyone, hope all is ok xx

trixie hope u had a lovely break in the sun, i should be looking at transfer end of Nov too!

maple goodluck and fingers crossed x

banana echoing raeside on your bravery after all u have been through, really hoping things work out for u before u get to that point.

Nothing much going on here, withdrawal bleed started today but still another 2 weeks until my baseline scan so just waiting and more waiting! Still feeling side effects from d/r but its all for a good cause!

Hello to anyone i have missed xxx

Raeside · 27/10/2016 11:11

Quick question for you experienced people out there! AF arrived today so I go in for my Day 2 baseline scan tomorrow and to collect meds to begin injections tomorrow night. It must be dildocam scan, right? Isn't it....well, messy?!?! I know they're all used to it and I'm being silly....

beanhunter · 27/10/2016 12:33

I had a similar day 2 scan yesterday. Wasn't anywhere near as bad as I expected. No real mess. And even if there is they've seen it all before. I started stims last night.

Raeside · 27/10/2016 13:34

Thanks bean - best of luck to you this cycle!

Raeside · 28/10/2016 15:30

Stims are go to start tonight. Nurse at clinic was ace and pre-mixed everything Menopur for me so I don't have to worry bout that. Only saw 4 eggs on each ovary so I must keep realistic bout potential ripe ones....she said I couldn keep taking all my supplements (vit d, primrose oil, CoQ10, Zita West conception ones, extra folic). What do you reckon?

How's everyone?

JustTrixie · 28/10/2016 20:26

Happy jabbing Raeside! I tend to just stick to the folic acid and vitamin d during cycles. I have immunology meds too so it gets a bit much.

Good to hear that you are stimming Bean.

star1980 · 29/10/2016 12:41

Good luck Raeside!
Afraid I haven't done ivf, but I guess by the time you start stimms the supplements have done all they can do and you won't make any more difference to egg quality or anything, so I would guess folic acid in case of pregnancy as trixie suggests is probably enough. This is all theoretical though as I haven't done it yet.

How are you doing trixie - when are you cycling again? Next month is it?

Borisisback · 30/10/2016 08:13

Hi ladies, I'm just popping on to wave at old friends and say hi to so many new people. I'm following all your journeys, cheering you on. Good luck ladies. X

JustTrixie · 30/10/2016 08:40

Hi Boris, lovely to hear from you! Can't be much longer for you now - eek!!

Star, AF is due next weekend then we start our medicated FET. Starting to get nervous as well as excited.
