We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Thanks everyone! I've got a busy few weeks at work so That make the time go.fast.

I have an appointment for acupuncture on Saturday. Dunno how I feel about it but thought I'd give it a go as I've heard it's good stress release, and for fertility (so they say).

Congratulations Friends! :)

Good luck Banana x

Brenna24 · 09/09/2016 08:46

Best of luck Banana. Sounds wonderfully positive.

maplebaby · 09/09/2016 09:07

Yay for being PUPO banana - fingers crossed for you xxx

lucieloos · 10/09/2016 16:25

So I'm 3dp5dt now and no symptoms whatsoever for me. I know it's early but I can't help comparing to my bfp cycle where I had pulling, back pain, cramping etc by now. Don't have a good feeling about it this time Sad

Positive thoughts Lucia, it may just be different this time.

Had my first acupuncture session today. Feel knackered now. Been sleeping all day, got another one nxt week and will continue for this cycle and see if it makes a difference. X

MrsRen · 11/09/2016 10:35

Keep positive Lucie, form what I've read most people don't get any symptoms.

Ooh Paige I was thinking of trying that but I was put off a bit by the woman saying it should be every week for 10 weeks!

bananafish81 · 11/09/2016 10:44

Keeping everything crossed for you lucie

I'm suffering the same comparison madness. Mind is totally playing tricks on me as I'm blatantly looking for symptoms - at 2dp5dt any pulling I felt yesterday is going to be the free fluid from my ovaries sloshing around rather than mythical implantation cramping. Which I had last time, but later. I think around 4dp5dt. I'm willing there to be symptoms and it's just the progesterone. Or wishful thinking.

paige acupuncture never did anything for me but plenty of people say they find it beneficial / relaxing. I only throw money at if during IVF as a form of emotional blackmail, 'just in case'

loopylou1984 · 11/09/2016 10:56

Lucie and banana, I'm keeping everything crossed for you both. I reading every post, just not able to keep up enough to post all the time. I had a few cramps quite late on, and a headache but other than that didn't feel any different... In fact I'm pretty sure I also had cramps on both bfn cycles so not sure they were even a symptom.

Paige and Mrsren - I am now a huge advocate for Accupuncture as I got my IVF bfp the only cycle I combined it, although I'm very aware it could have happened without the acu and I'll never now. Like banana it was a case of throwing everything at it and hoping for the best! Lol. I went once a week for 8 weeks and also on the day of EC and day after transfer. Xx

lucieloos · 11/09/2016 12:05

Thanks everyone.

Banana, it's maddening isn't it. I'm 4dp5dt today and still have absolutely nothing apart from much fuller, heavier boobs but of course that will be the progesterone. I really think it's all over for me and have already emailed for my fet protocol. What stage was your blast at when you transferred?

Sammy, thanks for your continuing support here. Hope all is going well. I remember your symptoms well. It was 4dpt same as me today and you were chatting to us on here and you had sharp stabbing pains and then the headache and I remember banana and myself saying we also had the magical 9dpo headache with our last bfps. I just don't feel anything though. It's so frustrating I would be surprised if they even hatched out to be honest this time. Just want to get it all over with the next few days.

Paige, I've had acupuncture on my last 3 cycles. The first one resulted in a bfp but ectopic. Second bfn and looks like this one bfn. It doesn't do a lot for me to be honest whilst I'm there it's just something I feel I should do. I'm not sure whether I would bother again though.

I was in two minds about having it done myself, and the husband was a bit suspicious also, but decided that you don't know unless you try. I just felt tired after the session, so no idea if it did anything and the tape the lady put on was soo annoying I wouldn't say I felt relaxed lol. I don't think I'll be doing it for a long period of time so hopefully it works first time :).

Lucia ill be keeping my fingers crossed for you x

loopylou1984 · 11/09/2016 14:58

Yes Lucie I did, but I also had lots of cramps/pains on my bfn cycles so who knows!

Paige - I was exhausted after my first Accupuncture but not after any others. Fx your ok after the next one.

stealthbanana · 11/09/2016 15:09

lucie I had absolutely NO symptoms til the evening of 4dpt. None. I'd never felt better Grin And I had a fully expanded blast so it should have been implanting ahead of the regular schedule. Of course we can't possibly know either way, and if preparing next steps makes you feel better then do crack on, but I wouldn't count yourself out just yet. Am keeping everything crossed for you and banana!

bananafish81 · 11/09/2016 15:15

lucie I felt absolutely bugger all last time. Except for some pulling at 5dp5dt that felt a bit periody, I had no symptoms to speak of. And the periody feeling could just as easily have been PMT or progesterone as mythical implantation cramping. There is just no way to know until you POAS

My blast was just starting to hatch - not fully hatching, but they have to be starting to hatch for PGS, so could see where the shell had broken for the biopsy. Again, means jack all!

lucieloos · 11/09/2016 15:28

Arghh ok thanks both I guess all will become clear in a few days time. Mine was fully expanded as well so would expect it to be implanting within a couple of days. Next time for the fet I'm bringing out the big guns and have a fully hatched tested blast so I expect instant implantation haha Grin

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 11/09/2016 17:14

Exactly! My consultant told me that the expanded blast might start implanting the evening of my FET. I wish he hadn't said that as it meant I was on even higher alert for symptom spotting in those early days. But the hcg takes time to rise. Really hoping this is it for you!

lucieloos · 11/09/2016 17:22

Oh really I would have thought the expanded one would take a bit longer as it has to start hatching out and then become fully hatched and that normally takes another day or so. I was expecting things to happen a little more slowly then when I had a hatching one transferred.

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to Mumsnet - been contemplating joining for a little while - but I've decided to make the first steps in getting referred for fertility treatment. I'm 27 and have been TTC #1 for approx 3 years. I have PCOS which I was diagnosed with at 20 so I have always known I may require a bit of additional help whether it's metformin/clomid/other help when it comes to starting a family. I was initially looking on different threads but feel like I fit in more here - so many BFP announcements on the other threads (don't get me wrong that's great for them but if only it was that easy for everyone!!).

Hope all is going well for you all and wishing you all the luck in the world with your treatment/journey! Flowers xx

stealthbanana · 11/09/2016 21:24

Sorry lucie you're quite right - I was getting my terminology mixed up. It was a hatched blast I had. !!

lucieloos · 11/09/2016 21:48

Ahh I see!! Yes one of the tested ones I have frozen is fully hatched so I would hope that one would implant very quickly if it is going to. This one onboard now is expanded so has a little way to go yet.

OP posts:
stealthbanana · 11/09/2016 21:56

Well you definitely don't need to worry about symptoms or lack thereof yet. A couple more days and you'll know. Ooh I hope it works!

lucieloos · 11/09/2016 22:03

Thanks stealth Smile

Welcome Lozza!

We have our first appointment in a few weeks. So looks like we are both in the same position :) x

Borisisback · 12/09/2016 08:48

I've got my Pom poms out for the PUPO ladies. It's so exciting and scary. Thinking of you.

Welcome lozza - it's a wonderful group of women here, sorry you find yourself here but hope you find it as supportive as I have!

lucie I know you know it's mega early, no way to know if you're out yet etc etc. Hugs.

Nothing really to speak of, felt a bit crampy but will just be the progesterone so doesn't mean anything. Tbh the main issue is that I can't take the pain meds I take for my spinal injury, and the shock of uncontrolled pain is as unpleasant as I remember from last time. Remember around 2/3dp5dt just being curled up crying with pain. Gets worse throughout the day, was still awake at 430am last night, DH reminded me that it was a massive shock to the system and did lessen in intensity last time. Urgh.

Oh and my PCOS acne has reached epic proportions!! 🍕🍕🍕
