We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Grin I met one of my neighbours out with his dog when I was taking out my bin this evening. We were chatting away and we were talking about my DDog. Said neighbour told me he would clam down when he grew up. His faace was a picture when I told him DDog will be 14 soon. Grin DDog is actually a model of good behaviour compared to the 4 year old dog I originally adopted. Although I was putting a bin bag out which was topped with the remains of a pack of butter I had just removed from DDg which had previously been on the kitchen worksurface. Given he is geriatric and riddled with arthritis I didn't know whether to tell him off or congratulate him.

beanhunter · 29/08/2016 22:49

Great news itsme and lucie.

I'm down in the dumps. Due to start dr on Friday. Got my reminder for a smear today. Now dressing as have had some random miscycle bleeding and now have to figure out how to fit it all in.

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 10:44

MPP, glad all is well and you are on count down to your scan. Keep us posted!

Hope, have a brilliant holiday and hope work goes ok. It's not easy but try and ignore all the baby chat.

Bean, hope you manage to fit everything in. I'm sure it will all work out.

Any news on any of the scans today? Hope it's good news all around!

beanhunter · 30/08/2016 11:26

Have managed to get smear appt for tomorrow am. So will be an anxious wait for the results but hopefully can get everything done.

loopylou1984 · 30/08/2016 11:29

Good work on getting the appointment bean!

All good with my scan, we saw two little babies and they're measuring on track :)

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 12:04

Brilliant news Sammy! Must be a big relief to see them again.

OP posts:
maplebaby · 30/08/2016 12:37

Bean well done on getting the appointment so soon - hopefully won't have to wait too long for the results.

Sammy ahhh two little babies! Can you see them properly? Sorry silly question! Hope you got to take some photos / have scans printed out! When is your next scan?

I'm just waiting for my scan now! I would like no more than 3 follicles and thick lining please!!

maplebaby · 30/08/2016 13:18

Ok so there were 10 follicles... Smallest were 10mm and the biggest 18mm. Now waiting to get urgent blood tests so they can have more of an idea of how many are "ripe".

Lining was 7.6mm though! Thickest it's ever been - probably all that oestrogen from all those follicles!

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 14:03

Ohh maple, fingers crossed! Can't they tell from the sizes how many are likely to be mature? Keep us posted.

OP posts:
maplebaby · 30/08/2016 14:10

I think that's why they are hoping the blood tests will shed some light Lucie! They were testing for LH and estradiol.
I don't know enough about follicles but I'm hoping the ones that are about 10mm won't get bigger - I think I had 4 that were 14mm upwards but they cancel if more than 3 Sad

Have to call at 4pm for an update so will let you all know then!

loopylou1984 · 30/08/2016 14:51

Huge relief Lucie! I cried again as I was just terrified before so the relief felt huge!

Hi Maple - yes i could definitely make out baby shapes rather than just blobs like the 7 week scan. And yes, we got lots of pictures (I should think so for £60!) My next scan will be the regular NHS 12 week scan so between 1.5 - 3.5 weeks for that.
Great news on your lining, and fx there's only a couple of mature follies so you can go ahead as planned.

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 14:58

Fingers crossed for the phone call maple.

Aww Sammy I can imagine! Such lovely news though.

OP posts:
Brenna24 · 30/08/2016 15:41

I hope the appointment went ok today Bean. Fingers crossed your results are back quickly and minus abnormalities.

Brilliant news Sammy. Grin So exciting.

Sounds hopefuly Maple. Everything crossed for you.

maplebaby · 30/08/2016 16:36

They cancelled it Sad I don't know what the units are but my estradiol was 3791 and they said a mature follicle releases 1000. Because I'm only 30 the likelihood of all the eggs taking are too high for them to risk.

Feel really sad as just seems like another block in the road but equally understand why they have.

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 17:06

Oh I'm so sorry maple, I think the 14mm were all a good size and so likely by the time of your trigger they would all be committed to growing and contain a mature egg. You must be so disappointed. I know they have to do it for a reason but doesn't make it any easier. Are you having treatment on the NHS? Will you be able to start again next month?

OP posts:
maplebaby · 30/08/2016 17:12

Thanks Lucie - DH still wants to try this month and a part of me really wants to but scared of the risk of multiples. Bit like dangling a carrot in front of a starving horse!

Yes it's on NHS and I don't lose a cycle if they cancel it so I still have 2 tries left which is good. They said they would go for a half dose next time.

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 17:20

Ahh maple, there was somebody else on here recently with your predicament, I think maybe star? She also had about 4 good sized follicles and the treatment was cancelled and she didn't know whether to try anyway. I think she ended up going for it but it didn't work. She had some male factor as well though I think. It would be very risky with 4 at your age and no male factor but I can understand why you would be tempted. It's good that you don't lose a go and hopefully you could get started again asap.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 30/08/2016 17:25

Maple, I'm so sorry. It's so disappointing when you get cancelled. After my experience of an embryo splitting I def wouldn't risk 4. I do get why your DH wants to though.

Itsme - how did you get on?

maplebaby · 30/08/2016 17:35

Thanks both! Yes it was star (how are you if you are lurking!) that had 4 - sadly a bfn for her and she had mfi.

We won't be trying his month - it's true that it is too risky at my age and we don't have male factor. We did shag yesterday morning though Confused but maybe by the time I ovulate they won't be hanging around!

Onwards... Hope everyone else is doing ok!

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 17:42

Aww I think that's a wise decision even though it's tough!

Banana, any news?

OP posts:
bananafish81 · 30/08/2016 17:59

Great news on the scan sammy!

maple I'm sorry the cycle is cancelled but definitely agree not TTC naturally is the best course. We had 4 mature follicles in my ovulation induction FET last month and agreed not to try, although that wasn't just because of the risk of multiples, but also because of crap lining and risk of miscarrying again. I'm really glad you don't lose your go - and you know that your lining definitely can thicken up, so hurrah for injectables!

Hugs bean, hope the smear gets turned around quickly and you can crack on with d/r

Have a great holiday hope

AFM, had intralipids this morning and then hot footed it from the clinic to my Dr's office

Lining is 8.4mm and he said it's the best it's ever looked! He wants to push it an extra day, because my largest follies are 18-20mm so we have headroom before anything tries to pop - so we're aiming for trigger Thu for EC on Sat if poss (awaiting confirmation from the clinic). He said he would def be happy to transfer into that, so thinks we should proceed to ET (hopefully a week on Thu)

If we were doing IVF then he'd scan me again before trigger; but for a FET - as he's happy with the lining as it is - don't need to be scanned before EC. The only way is up between now and Thu evening, so hope my lining manages to squeeze that extra half a mm to get over the magical 9mm mark. He'll scan me at EC, but it's the trigger day that matters, because it'll already have started to compact by the day of collection

To think I was originally booked in for a hysteroscopy and having an IUD put in tomorrow! Shit's getting real...!!

lucieloos · 30/08/2016 18:03

That's amazing news banana I'm so excited for you! This really could be it this time.

I have hopefully my final scan in the morning. Really want to trigger tomorrow and get EC done!

star1980 · 30/08/2016 18:13

Grr maple, so sorry it's a cancelled cycle Flowers I can totally understand why you're not trying, def the right decision. Obviously I went ahead and don't regret it but I was so scared of multiples during that tww and the crash when my period arrived was unbearable. I could have protected myself from that. But 10 follicles! Must mean you should respond brilliantly if it comes to ivf, which hopefully it won't.

Lovely lovely news Sammy! Many congratulations, that must feel magical Smile

Good luck with your upcoming scan mpp. Hope you're doing well.

As for me, I'm just about bearing up. Was really floored by the last failed Clomid cycle and both of us have decided to get counselling separately so I start that next week. Hoping it will help. My oh got baby bombed yesterday by friends who've been together less time than we've been trying. Grrr! Anyway, ivf appointment on Thursday and we've booked a holiday for Sep so hopefully get going in October. Just want to get it over with to be honest as convinced icsi won't work as I think we have more than male factor now. I just turned 36 ffs Sad

Oh crikey, sorry to barge back onto the thread with a big pity story. Hope everyone else is doing ok! Lucie, I have my fingers crossed for ec this Friday. Good luck!
