If so, please join the club. Let's keep each other going!

In our case, we're going abroad for ours - Norway. What about you?

No pain that I have noticed no bloating either but hard to tell as I am quite large...
So dominat follicle at 16mm, another at 10mm and then about 4 @ 4mm... Looks like it will be just one egg - which is fine so ling as it is good quality :) i will keep on with copious milk drinking and cayenne pepper, walnuts and cinnamon consumption!

MiaHayek · 02/03/2016 09:11

Hi count me in! I'm 37, never been pregnant in my life, started my first round of IVF in Feb, just got my first negative result, implantation didn't seem to happen. Follow up appointment is in a month. I have 2 frozen embryos. I used to have endometriosis and have some scarring on my uterus and only half an ovary on the left side. Staying positive as I am very healthy otherwise! Also, I just found out my friend got pregnant naturally for the first time at 41, she had been trying for 3 years and for some reason is against IVF. She's a health freak so.. it can still happen! She

Kwick709 · 02/03/2016 20:25

Mia way to go with your positivity - that is the spirit!!

I am just about to inject the trigger (Pregnyl) - egg collection this Friday!!!

Everhopeful76 · 02/03/2016 20:57

Ahhh Kwick.....good luck!! How many follicles did you have at your last scan? Have my fingers crossed for you. I have my first scan following 7 days of menopur on Fri!!

Kwick709 · 02/03/2016 21:13

Thanks ever I had a day today - day 14 - and there was one follicle at 16mm, 1 at 10mm and then about 4 at 5mm. It does look like I am just going to get one mature egg - but that is all that is required right? Fx for you!

Everhopeful76 · 02/03/2016 21:26

Yeah it certainly is. I don't know if my clinic will let me continue unless I have 3 follies of a decent size but obviously am going to want to go ahead. Still nowhere near at that point yet.
Is Pregnyl an epi pen type trigger injection? Are you have your EC via general or sedation?

westergille · 02/03/2016 22:08

I thought I had posted yesterday but seems not perhaps I got my threads confused Anyway ET was today - 2 day 5 blastocysts put in in the hope that at least one will stick.

We had the same situation as last ICSI cycle - one great blastocyst and another good enough to transfer but not good enough to freeze. We decided we'd rather risk having 2 than 0 from this cycle (already have DD1).

No frosties as the other 2 embryos have slowed right down and are unlikely to be freezable.

Keep thinking we're crazy to have done it but I know deep down I'd regret not giving it the best shot possible if I get a BFN next week. OTD is Fri 11th.

westergille · 02/03/2016 22:11

Just seen that I DID post yesterday there's more that 1 page of posts, West!

muddyboots · 02/03/2016 23:53

Sorry I haven't been back for ages - been on holiday and then exhausted most evenings. Interesting to hear how people have been getting on.
I'm now on day 5 of my stimming phase and have got my first scan tomorrow. I'm a bit worried that nothing much seems to be happening apart from sore boobs and an occasional twinge. Glad to be out of the down-reg stage though as I had a constant headache which has now lifted.

I AM a trained nurse so finding the injections not too difficult but it must be really fiddly for you if you're not used to drawing-up drugs. My boyfriend did mine for me the other day (just to give him something to do) and he really struggled! It made me appreciate what a task it must be if you're not used to it. Try not to worry too much about every tiny drop, I wouldn't think it would affect the outcome.

Off to bed now with my first dose of vaginal clindamycin. Yuk.

Kwick709 · 03/03/2016 08:18

wester best of luck & how exciting!!

ever Pregnyl is one that you have to make up and then inject.. i rather like doing this now I am not sure if I will have a GA or heavy sedation tomorrow - I do not mind so long as they get my eggs!

NotSpartacus · 03/03/2016 09:12

So exciting, Westergille. I've everything crossed for you. I think they did have an actual clown in that study, but I reckon anything that makes you laugh will do!

Good luck for tomorrow Kwick. Was it you that said you were eating cinnamon? What's that about?

Good luck with the scan muddyboots. I have to say I am really dreading the jabs. I look away when I have any done to me (I don't even look at acupuncture needles) so it may be a bit hard for me. Plus if I ever have to mix anything I always lose track of what I am doing, and I am quite obsessive compulsive so even the mixing (which kind of sounds fun) may be a trial. Think I may film myself doing it and talking it through, not to put on YouTube or anything, but so I can pretend to be a TV presenter and not scared!!

Kwick709 · 03/03/2016 18:12

notspartacus I saw the affiliated nutritionist at CRGH way back last summer and cinnamon was one if the things she suggested - Along with cayenne pepper, avoado, increased dairy and so on.

I was really worried about the needle thing too... I took it slow and steady and now I feel like I am an on old hand at it. When do you start stimming?

NotSpartacus · 03/03/2016 19:08

Oh well I hate avocado, and eat lots of dairy already so hopefully I've not done too badly on the diet front. Starting norethisterone on Sunday for 9 days, so will be stimming in about 3 weeks. Eeek!

Kwick709 · 03/03/2016 21:38

Are you having a nasal spray also nonspartacus? You are at CRGH on Great Portland Street too right? My favourite scanner is Elena and now only Susan is really allowed to take blood from me due to my lack of nice veins...

muddyboots · 04/03/2016 09:46

Thinking of you today Kwick Hope it's not too bad.

Had 12 (I think) reasonable sized follicles on my scan yesterday. Supposed to be going for another scan on Sunday but waiting for the clinic to ring me with a time (which they said they would do yesterday.Grrrrr) The not knowing exactly when things are going to happen is a big problem for me as the clinic is 2.5 hours drive away and I am a shift-working single parent.

I'm trying to make plans for my egg collection on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm actually excited about it as for me that's the end of my journey! I honestly don't know how you all find the emotional strength to carry on with this. The more I read and research the more amazing I think you all are.

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 15:22

Thanks muddy 12 eggs??? That is AMAZING!!!!! Well done! My egg collection got 2 - which I am pleased with as I thought it could be zero. I hear you about the clinic not calling - mine have been quite good except for last week and it just adds to what is already a fraught time!

Why is it the end of the journey for you?

I am tired but I know I will keep trying as having a baby is so important for me.

Muddy you are an amazing single parent shift-working lady :)

muddyboots · 04/03/2016 16:50

Well 12 follicles Kwik - we'll see on Tuesday if they produce the eggs. Congratulations on your 2. Bet you're glad it's over. How do you feel physically?

I'm only donating eggs (so I'm a bit of a fraud on these boards) so after Tuesday/Wednesday I will be done. I desperately hope it works for my recipient obviously, but there isn't any more I can do after that and I'm too old to do it again.

I love NotSpartacus's idea of pretending to be a TV presenter! I think I might do that too.

Working myself up to confess to my Mum later Blush I'm ashamed to say I haven't told her yet, but with a weekend scan and egg collection coming up she's going to wonder what I'm up to. Gulp.

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 18:05

Oh yes muddy I forgot you are the most amazing person in the whole wide world - nothing of a fraud!!! I am sure your mum will see how amazing you are too!

Hmm so there is a difference between follicles and eggs? Is eggs once you ovulate? Follicles what they grow in.

NotSpartacus · 04/03/2016 19:15

Well done Kwick, fantastic news on the egg front. I imagine that even now they are reclining in a dimly lit petrie dish, listening to Barry White and waiting to be fertilised. No sniffing for me. I seem to be on a strange protocol, and I have good ORT results but am old: so it is lower doses of the drugs (to avoid overstimulation) but Zomacton (because I am old). I am at CRGH too, not much experience of the scanning people or nurses yet. Although my antral follicle count was literally the fastest and least precise scan I have ever had. She just seemed to wiggle the wand about a bit while counting really fast and I had my knickers back on in about 10 seconds!

muddy 12 follies is fab. So nice that you're donating, I know someone is going to be hugely grateful. Will they tell you if a pregnancy results?

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 19:31

Notspartacus I love the Barry White idea Grin I am on every drug that goes it seems - due to age and one ovary... consultant did not seem concerned about OHSS - but then I did an IUI cycle with Menopur the month before starting the protocol and I did not get many follicles then either.

I do not want to think too much about if this cycle does not work but I think if it does not I will do natural IVF next time.

Lucky you to have a quick scan - with me they often forget I only have one ovary and have a good old poke around!!!

goinggrey1978 · 05/03/2016 10:26

muddyboots, your not a fraud, you're fantastic, thank you for donating your eggs to people like me!!
hello again everyone, had to get another g something injection yesterday, as there was a small problem with my donor lady, feeling a bit sore today and very tired, not been sleeping well, got another week off driving to london before the next appointment, i've lost another few pounds, that happened last time too, as the medication turns me off my food!!
hope your all ok??

Kwick709 · 05/03/2016 12:50

I have been ravenous... goinggrey you are lucky that you are off your food...
I have not been sleeping well either.... Lords knows why!

Anyway just heating up a fertility boosting sweet potato, red lentil and chilli soup for lunch :)

NotSpartacus · 05/03/2016 14:19

Any news on the eggs kwick? Very impressed with your diet , although I loathe lots of allegedly fertility boosting foods (avocado, sweet potato etc). Maybe that's why I have not been up the duff in so long!!

goinggrey do you know roughly when your transfer is going to happen? Excited for you, I hope it works.

Starting norethisterone tomorrow. It was very hard not ttc this month as we are so in the habit. But my hysteroscopy is on the 14th and I really need that as I have not been pregnant in a year (and that ended in mc and a d and c) so it may show the cause of my infertility. And if not it will allow us to go ahead with IVF. Glad to be starting my cycle soon. Have dragged my feet enough.

Hope everyone else is ok. Would be keen to hear how the Norway thing is going for whoever it was who is going there.

Kwick709 · 05/03/2016 15:11

Notspartacus I talk a good talk... but I eat a lot of naughty things too... and am actually either suffering from eating double my body weight yesterday in unhealthy comfort food or from the after effects of the egg collection... feel it is more likely to be the former Grin

So I heard from the clinic - 1 egg has fertilised, 1 has not (yet) it is still in with the magic potion - so who knows. Egg transfer may be as early as Monday!!!! Trying to contain my excitement and maintain a zen like approach... but failing miserably!

I think TwinklingLight is the Norway lady.

NotSpartacus · 05/03/2016 17:17

Were you totally out for the egg collection? Seen too many youtube vids where people were wide awake and wincing!
