Does anyone know what days i would have to go back to the clinic for scans and blood rest when taking the gonal pen.

14 days of BURSERELIN and then start gonal injection for 9-12 days.

Hey, it won't be very easy to answer this. Depends a lot on the policy of your clinic as to how closely they want to monitor you and how you respond to the drugs you are given. This might be after 2 weeks of the Buserelin to check if you are ready to move onto the next stage. And then once you start the Gonal F, then every few days until you are ready for egg collection. Have you been in touch with the clinic to ask them?

After you've had your break through bleed after your downreg drug you'll have an internal scan and blood will be taken from your arm (you ring the clinic as soon as your period starts and they'll tell you when to go in). Assuming your lining is thin and your blood test says so, you'll be told by the clinic when to start the Gonal f. You'll most likely have a few days of Gonal F and then be called in for a scan and then it's usually every other day. For me, my first day of Gonal F fell on a Thursday. I had my first scan the following Wednesday, then Friday, then Monday, Wednesday and then Friday and so on, until I had my final scan and blood test then was rang in the afternoon with the time to take my Trigger shot and the time of my appointment for egg collection.

Hope this helps.

thanks woobeedoo, sesame sparkle

break through bleed !

I've been taking Burserlin for 10 days now and have a scan booked next week, by which time i will have been taking the injections for 16 days that morning and the clinic told me i can start taking the gonal f later that even after the scan.

After reading up bits and peices it looks like most people got a scan etc on the 9th day of taking the gonal f (which would be a Friday) but wasnt sure if i would have to go in on the saturday or sunday or the monday the 12 th day.

More concerned about the weekend as i work one day each weekend.

Really dont want to tell work

I'm ON now, day 4 so has my scan been booked a bit to late?

Hi,

Scan time seems ok, my clinic judged the breakthrough bleed to last 7 days so booked the scan for just after that (although some women are still bleeding - the clinic will still scan you if you are which freaks some women out a little). If you have any doubts give them a call to check, the reception ladies at my place were so friendly, they knew we'd have queries, worries and concerns so never made anyone feel foolish or like they were taking up their time if they rang up.

Also, a lot of clinics will be open for weekends - are you going to the same clinic for egg collection and transfer as well as your progress scans? I had a local clinic for scans but Oxford Fertility Unit for collection and transfer.

I asked my local clinic if I could have the first appointment of the day, it meant I got in work a tiny bit later than normal but did the old "urgh, the Central line was delayed!" line to them.

If im late in the weekend it would be just as bad as not going in as i will be deducted a shift bonus.

I guess if it happens it happens, just seems a waste to lose my monthly bonus that makes up a big part of my monthly wage due to a weekend day for a scan.

my clinic is really nice but i just feel bad calling them as i already called them 3 times and im only 10 days in !

First time because i still hadnt rcvd my presciption and i knew it wouldnt arrive in time to get the buserelin so they faxed it to Healthcare at home who delivered it to me. Then i called again as i was sent a batch of tiny needles but not the type to draw. Then i called again as i wanted to know if they wanted me to take the gonal f exactly 14 days after the buserelin or wait until i have scan first.

I wouldn't worry about contacting the clinic again, from what you've put they messed up getting the prescription to you in good time, the needle fault is the drugs company so again not your fault and they didn't give you sufficient info on how long to take the drugs resulting in your last call.

I'd have no shame in calling them again, maybe it'll make them pull their pants up a little bit with regards giving out information to people (on the drugs) and getting prescriptions out on time.

Keep in mind that sometimes egg collection and transfer can be at the weekend, my first go collection was on Friday and transfer on a Sunday. Once you've started stims you can count an average of 12 days and then you should know roughly when to expect collection, then 2, 3 or 5 days after will be transfer.
