Hertfordshire fertility clinic recommendations?

Hi, this is my first ever mumsnet post and I'm wondering if anyone can help? Have a 2.5 yo and been trying for no 2 for over a year now. GP very reluctant to help, so considering going private. Just wondered if anyone could recommend a Herts-based clinic or person? The one I've found asks you to get blood tests done via your GP first - is that normal?

I went to The Herts and Essex Fertility Centre a few years ago (DS is now 7yo - but it is still run by the same team) and they were fantastic.
I went private, but my GP still had to refer us. I see from their website that they have an open evening coming up - maybe worth a visit and to ask some questions.

I'm about to try calling The Spire tomorrow...I have a friend who speaks very highly of Ms Akbar. I was private in Beds but I want a second opinion about my PCOS and treatment options.
