Have any of you out there had an allergic reaction to fertility drugs?

I've had 1 long protocol ivf cycle which ended in failure but I was quite unwell all the way through. After the 8 days of Buserelin and 8 days into the Menopur I came out in hives and I generally started to swell up. Devastated at the thought of stopping I took a gagillion Piriton tablets and got through to the end as my consultant told me there was no chance it was down to the IVF drugs.

My 2nd cycle was short protocol ICSI on Menopur and Cetrotide and was over very swiftly (EC on day 10) but resulted in a beautiful baby boy who is now 3 years old.

We decided to try again in February this year but had two false starts due to illness and then a cancelled cycle with one greedy follicle sucking up all of the drugs. Got 6 days in with the Menopur before stopping but for 4 days after I've had an severely itchy scalp, face, neck, chest and upper arms which has barely been controlled with the Pirition. Luckily it's now disappearing :)

My consultant once again states that he doesn't believe it's anything to do with the IVF drugs but, as my GP put it, in my 38 years on this earth I've only shown an allergic reaction twice. Both times with fertility drugs in my system - coincidence??

Consultant now wants to go back to the long protocol to control the follicles better but I can't shake the feeling I'd be playing Russian roulette with my body. On the other hand coincidences do happen and maybe I'll be fine if we go for it.

We are truly blessed to have our ds and we cherish him everyday. I'm not expecting anyone to make my decision for me but has anyone else had anything similar. It's been tiring and emotional but my AMH is quite literally plummeting by the day so time ain't on my side.
