Ha! I was just about to post the last message in the old thread linking to this, but I'm too late, we've already filled it up! I'll do the same as last time and send PMs to everyone who's been on the thread recently, but everyone's welcome Smile

huge congrats non and happy anniversary ! what a fab pressie!

Shellster52 · 04/08/2015 01:09

What a good memory you have purple. Yes, two of my eggs did break apart with the ICSI process pip. The Dr said this happens when the eggs are over mature and I did have two overly-large follicles while they waited for the smaller follicles to continue growing that cycle. We did ICSI but we had 0% normal forms as opposed to 3%.

A HUGE congratulations to you Non. That's the best anniversary present you could ask for! And a frosty for a future sibling too!

blinkhead · 04/08/2015 10:52

Just wondered if anyone has experienced this on long protocol... Had baseline scan yesterday and lining is too thick for stims. (8mm) I have been told to come back on Friday for another scan and continue Buserelin in the meantime. I finished bleeding yesterday so can't see any hope of lining thinning anymore...will this cycle be cancelled do you think?

BlueKarou · 04/08/2015 11:23

Congrats Non!!!

Sorry, blink, no experience of a thick lining. Hopefully someone else will come along with more knowledge.

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 04/08/2015 13:03

Huge Congratulations to non well done you! :)

I have been booked in for ET next Monday. Excited/nervous!!

Start fanny bullets tomorrow though, not looking forward to that Grin

Shellster52 · 06/08/2015 05:15

Forgive me Toes but I seem to have completely lost track. I remember you having one on ice so I assume this is the FET taking place Monday - but then I remember you gearing up for FET a couple of months ago so either your FET involves downregging and has been a two month process or perhaps you've been stimming again and I've missed it amidst my own goings on. You'll have to update me!

blink I have no experience with that either. Not long now til your scan on Friday and I hope you get good news - but like you say, if you've finished bleeding I don't understand how they expect it to get thinner? Will be interested to hear how you get on. Keep us posted.

purplemeggie · 09/08/2015 22:41

How did you get on with your scan, Blink? Hope the lining sorted itself out...

Good luck for tomorrow, Toes.

Shellster - when are you having a scan? Must be soon now, isn't it?

Hope everyone else is okay.

shell sorry for not responding right away, we have been away for a long weekend - had a wedding on Saturday so decided to take from Thursday and have a little relax. Good job we did too, those seem to have been our 3 days of summer in the UK! Grin

I have been on a bunch of hormones for ages for my FET - first they gave me an injection to thin my lining completely, and it took 3 weeks instead of the 2 they hoped it would, then I had 2 weeks of Oestrogen to thicken my lining, which worked great, but then we put back transfer day from what should have been last Thursday to today because of the break (the very nice nurse reminded me that I'm going to a wedding and will probably enjoy a glass of champagne... Or 3!) so all in all that's been almost 7 weeks of prepping for this FET.

blink how did everything go? When I had the first scan (see above) they sent me away for another week, and I didn't really bleed at all. I actually thought it was ridiculous and I'd be downregging forever, but then I bled a teeeeenny bit the day before the second scan (like, a wee spot in my knickers and that's it) but when they scanned me they said it had thinned very nicely indeed. So maybe some of it just gets absorbed or something rather than actually bleeding out?

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 10/08/2015 15:41

I am back from the clinic with my lovely frostie on board. It defrosted nicely, and the embryologist said it was a grade 5AA by the time they popped it back. I am very proud of the little bundle of cells :D

It was a horrible transfer again, my cervix is just really curvy apparently, and it is really hard for them to get the catheter in and so takes ages, with the nurse having to push the ultrasound probe right down really hard so the doctor can see as much as possible. Which is not in the least bit pleasant with a full to bursting bladder! But they said they managed a lovely smooth transfer so everything crossed now!

purplemeggie · 10/08/2015 19:00

Sounds promising Toes - keeping everything crossed for your splendid frostie x

blinkhead · 10/08/2015 19:26

Toes will keep fingers crossed - you were right, had scan on Friday and lining had absorbed and reduced to 4mm which was a relief. Start stimmimg tomorrow.

Shellster52 · 11/08/2015 01:13

That must have been reassuring blink. After my 11 IVF's I thought I knew everything but I never knew that the lining gets absorbed as well as what bleeds out. Must be nice to be able to now get on with things.

Congrats Toes*. Was it a day 5 embryo? When is your official test date? I enjoyed the day after my embryo transfer because I lived in fantasy land while I knew for sure I was actually pregnant at that moment with a live embryo in my uterus. The next few days after that I wasn't sure if it had implanted or disintegrated so the fantasy started to get replaced by panic, but for today you are actually pregnant :)

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 11/08/2015 13:55

Shell It was a 5 day embryo, they froze it at the same time as they did my transfer last time (I was actually a bit annoyed because they had told us we had 4 blasts that morning, but then when we were already in theatre the embryologist came in and said "2 have arrested and I have frozen 1" leaving us with only the one to put back. I think considering there were only 2 left, I would have put them both back given the choice). But let's not dwell on the past! My official test date in the 19th, I don't know if I will do a pee stick sooner though. I didn't last time, but I don't know if I can handle the wait: you go in at 9am for a blood test and then they call you at around 1pm.

Like you say, I am very happy being "pregnant" for now. I have already started feeling nauseous, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the embie - it won't even have implanted yet! But I can dream!

lildottie · 11/08/2015 14:09

Hi, room for another. I know quite a few of you from other threads.

13bcps left to go until i start 2nd ivf. 1st ivf back in January resulted in a short lived bfp from 2 embryo transfer. mc Feb 15. just want round 2 to be underway now, so fed up of waiting!

bananafish81 · 11/08/2015 16:55

Hi all

Room for another little 'un?

TTC #1, went from being PCOS at 28 to massively diminished ovarian reserve 5 years later, now aged 33. Fast tracking to IVF as time is not on our side.

Due to start next month - he's recommending short protocol.

Nice to 'meet' you ladies x

Blackandwhitecat3 · 11/08/2015 20:17

Toes so glad to hear you have a top quality embie on board. You are now PUPO Smile.

Welcome lil, sorry to hear about your mc, that must have been tough. Welcome banana too.

Big wave to all

Bliink glad to hear the good news about the lining at your scan.

Shellster 11 rounds? I have new respect for you. No wonder you are the IVF Oracle. You're keeping quiet about your early scan but it must be soon, so I hope it goes well.

I told work today, it feels even more real now Smile

lildottie · 11/08/2015 23:46

thanks black. what doesn't kill you makes you stronger eh!

non I've just read back, so pleased for you! congratulations! hope the time to scan goes fast and all is well.

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 12/08/2015 12:28

Has anyone else really struggled with Cyclogest at all?

I was on Crinone for the last cycle and it was completely fine (except having to fish out some of the left over gel every now and again Blush). This time they have me on Cyclogest (I think they are known affectionately as fanny candles on mumsnet!) but oh my god I don't know if I can handle it much longer. I feel like I have the worst thrush. The itching is driving me crazy. Before transfer I was taking baths almost every day to soothe me, but I am too scared to now at least until we have a BFP.

Any hints and tips from seasoned pros? I am at my wits end!

bessie84 · 12/08/2015 12:56

toesandfingers put em up behind instead - much better.

BlueKarou · 12/08/2015 13:30

toes up, what bessie said; pop them up the tradesmans' entrance. Much less hassle, and no mess.

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 12/08/2015 13:39

I'm going to try that tonight! Blush

lildottie · 12/08/2015 13:43

I also switched to the back door with them toes but I found I got a bit constipated from them. much better to deal with than the itching and dribbling though!

bananafish81 · 12/08/2015 16:29

Hi ladies

Are any of you taking / have any of you taken DHEA? Have checked with my consultant and he said fine to take it, just wondered how any of you had got on with it?

I've read about greasy hair and spots cos of it elevating testosterone, but wondered how any of you found it?

I would have previously avoided DHEA as I was diagnosed as PCOS 5 years ago (and had cracking ovarian reserve and great FSH / AMH levels). However in a weird 'my consultant says he's absolutely stumped and says he isn't usually stumped' medical freakshow marvel way, now aged 33 I appear to have un-polycystic-ed myself - as my follicles have dried up, my FSH sky rocketed, my AMH plummeted, and my testosterone is low (whereas with PCOS I had acne from elevated androgens)

Fuck knows what happened for my ovaries to age so dramatically in 5 years but needless to say as I have diminished reserves and no PCOS issues consultant reckons DHEA is not a problem!!

Darkchoc · 13/08/2015 16:12

Shellster words simply fail me...am I reading all the comments and congratulations correctly and you are pregnant?? Yippee, yippee what incredible news! You must be beyond thrilled and beyond excited. Not sure how many weeks you are? Non a huge congratulations to you also...quite simply fantastic news. Have I missed any other BFPs?

How are you Bluekarou and Cat?

Blue so so sorry your last cycle didn't work out. You must be devastated. But I think you have a plan for moving forward and I hope that is some comfort.

Sorry, I've been absent of late. Work and Mummy duties etc etc. I started sniffing at the end of July for my final cycle of IVF with current clinic and then the consultant's secretary failed to post my prescription in time so last week I had to cancel my IVF. I'm understandably livid and devastated...it was to be my final cycle before my 42nd birthday!! Was the clinic bothered...no. Now waiting for period to start so I can attempt my last own egg cycle in the Czech Rep before moving over to donated embryos.

Hello to all and welcome all newbies...hope you have a smooth ride with IVF.

Shellster52 · 14/08/2015 03:04

How frustrating Toes that they just assumed and froze your second embryo. My clinic has me fill in a form at the start of my IVF where I selected a two embryo transfer from the get-go. I assume this also means you had to pay extra $$$ for the freezing process and for an FET cycle. Grr. But yes, moving forward. I have only ever used the Crinone. That Cyclogest sounds terrible. Hope others are able to advise.

Cat, my 7 week scan went well thank you. I didn't want to make a big point as I know how disheartening it is hearing of others success when I was having repeated IVF failure after failure. I feel a bit guilty as here I am complaining about not being able to have a second - which I feel entitled to be upset about when most others can complete their family without a second thought - but guilty to complain about on here when most others here can only dream of having one, let alone me now having my second.

banana, I took the DHEA. I had 11 IVF attempts throughout 2013- 2105 before my last one FINALLY resulted in a BFP. First couple of attempts I started with 5 follicles in total on both ovaries. I then started DHEA along with Aspirin (as I always have light periods and thought my low count could be due to poor blood supply to my ovaries) and produced 15-18 follicles at my day 2 scans in 2014! After having taken DHEA for a year, I wondered if I was overdosing so took a break from it and did the Aspirin alone and my next day 2 count earlier this year was back down to 5! Started it for a bit before my final IVF and had a couple more follicles and finally produced my BFP. So I personally highly recommend the DHEA. Hope it works for you too. How frustrating to go from polycsytic to low reserve at age 33.

Yes Darkchoc, I finally got a BFP. How absolutely frustrating that the clinic does not bother/forgets to post your script in time! It's really negligent on their part in my opinion. I went ahead with my last IVF despite low mature follicle numbers because I was days away from turning 38 so I totally get the emotional aspect of wanting it to happen before another birthday. Is the Czech clinic a different clinic to this negligent one?
