Great news Annie! I must confess that when my recurrent miscarriage testing came back all normal I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping to find sdomething wrong so that they can treat it.

Have you been given given any medications or recommendations to follow?

LondonSuperTrooper · 19/06/2014 14:24

I've just calculated that if I do not get my well deserved BFP, then AF is due to arrive on my DS 7th Birthday Party! So I'm planning to test early to get over my disappointments & to try and enjoy my DS birthday.

Triple my cycle buddy, when are you planning to test?

LondonSuperTrooper · 19/06/2014 14:27

Shall I splurge on FR test or use an internet cheapie? My IC preg sticks is high sensitivity of 20 mlU/ml......

Gingerbreadlady1 · 19/06/2014 17:12

I'd do a cheapie if not late london. Good luck!

Triplespin · 19/06/2014 17:39

Stone - same here - well almost. I am 36 have a 5 yr old and suffered multiple mcs too. Are you visiting fc privately or via NHS. Is IVF not an option? My plan is for 3 clomid cycles and then push for ivf. But not sure if we can afford it then as I am at threat of redundancy.

London super trooper - poas seems so far off!! I will use a FR and will test 10dpo so if I ovulate on cd14 then it will around 4th/5th July. So far off!

AnnieHoo · 19/06/2014 18:58

I'd do a cheapie!

Yes we've been told to go back in 6 weeks and if I'm not preggers then he'll refer me for IVF on NHS. He filled out the IVF referral form today and tested both of our carbon monoxide levels and we were OK.

I mentioned to the consultant that I'd been looking at going private for IVF because I'm concerned about having to wait and he said that I'd get seen quite quickly once referred...Hmm

Ginger sounds like I'm in same position as you. Wait for NHS or go private?? I don't have any time to play with... Btw I mentioned a holiday in Athens to DH last night but he said it was "unnecessary"! If only I could get a BFP this month with a good egg!

LondonSuperTrooper · 19/06/2014 19:03

Thanks Ginger.

Triple, apologies, I'm actually on CD19!!! At the moment I'm about 8dpo.

StoneBaby · 19/06/2014 20:03

triple I'm in the Channel Islands so no NHS over here. I'm seeing the FC as part of the health programme but IVF is private and v expensive especially as one needs to travel to Southampton to have it done.

My GP wants me to see a councellor as I'm border depressed due the ttc stress. Not sure if I want to Confused

Stone have you though about having the IVF overseas? I'm currently looking into that right now.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/06/2014 11:11

How you getting on with your research stone? I read your ivf thread & saved it as I'm also lolling into ivf, home & abroad. Will decide next month after apt with acu once I know how long the waiting lists are. I like the sound of serum and dogus. Also invicta.

LondonSuperTrooper · 20/06/2014 12:20

Oooh which IVF thread?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/06/2014 12:25

Sorry meant your thread london

Triplespin · 20/06/2014 12:41

Yes I have heard good things about serum and lots of people have had success via them. Definitely may be worth considering.

London - oh then we are not cycle buddies. I think there was confusion over dpo and cd. Did you poas today? Fingers crossed for you.

My fc also does ivf so I will likely stick with them if my clomid cycles don't work.

LondonSuperTrooper · 20/06/2014 13:39

OK Ginger, phew I thought that I may have missed some vital IVF info!

Triple, sorry the confusion arose from my end. I'm 9 dpo but AF is not due till next Friday. I think that it's too early to test? I will test on Monday, 4 days before AF. I've long stopped testing early but with my DS's birthday party on Saturday, I really need to get my head around AF arriving.

I'm pinning all of my hopes on Tamxifen (clomid equivalent) working for us. We only have money for one IVF cycle and if this doesn't work... well I can't bear to think about that :(

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/06/2014 14:36

Have you looked on fertility friends website? Lots of info on there but I don't find it as user friendly as mumsnet london. How much you budgeting for?

LondonSuperTrooper · 20/06/2014 14:42

I'm budgeting for 4-4.5k to include IVF & flights. But this is a moot point as my DH cannot travel overseas (due to work commitments) so most likely we will do it in the UK - still undecided.

I already know that I will need the higher dose of drugs :(

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/06/2014 16:07

Ah, serum do 2 lots of ivf for €4k, plus flights & meds. Think he is only needed for 1 day, could fly there & back in 1 day?

LondonSuperTrooper · 20/06/2014 19:58

Is Serum the clinic in Athens? It's meant to be good but it's one of the more expensive ones.

I've been looking at Gennet and Reprofit in Czech. A friend of a friend is currently raving on about her clinic in Turkey. I need to get the name so I can start researching it as well.

Yes, thankfully he can travel for one day if that's all he needed for.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 20/06/2014 20:43

Yes, in Athens. It is meant to be good.

StoneBaby · 20/06/2014 21:29

The IVF in the UK is £5,000 +. We get refered to Southampton. But the flights are rembursed by the States

OP posts:
LondonSuperTrooper · 20/06/2014 23:18

Ginger, it is good but from what I've read the flights can be expensive.

Stone, so you'd pay for the IVF but not the flights?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/06/2014 10:11

Morning ladies, london you poas this weekend? The witch is due tomorrow......last clomid cycle...

Firsttimer9981 · 21/06/2014 10:16

Morning everyone. Poas this morning and got a bfn. I really want to go back to the fc and have a chat about testing whether my tubes are blocked, but I'm only half way through the 6 months clomid they've given me.

AnnieHoo · 21/06/2014 11:17

Ginger have you looked at Ninewells. I'm checking it out. Cheaper than the big private clinics as non-profit www.acudundee.org/costs/

Fingers mahoosively X'd you get a BFP.

Firsttimer when are you due AF?

Triplespin · 21/06/2014 11:42

Sorry about the bfn first timer - do you think its a case of being too early?

Yes the flights can be expensive as you cannot book very far in advance as it all depends on how the follicles are growing. It is supposedly very good in that they have discovered issues which were not picked up by the UK clinics.
