I don't think the story suggests he's gay, although he may be. And Rooney has a child so I don't think his age is an issue.

I thought maybe the baby was the result of a brief relationship and he wanted to bring up the baby in Europe as opposed to the US - but who knows!

I don't think this situation says he is gay. But I have heard rumours ( nothing from sources or anything - just general stuff.) And I suppose this story does not discredit those rumours.
