I love it when old fools have tantrums like that. He doesn't look like he could be a miner or do anyting physical though??

Lizzylou · 16/08/2005 15:55

Berk by name.....

homemama · 16/08/2005 16:02

Why is Tim Henman an example? Am I missing something?

jampots · 16/08/2005 16:07

why would they make hte house look untidy? Surely they would be able to tidy up after themselves whilst flicking through the channels

monkeytrousers · 16/08/2005 16:25

"Almost all the big jobs in broadcasting were held by women - the controllers of BBC One television and Radio 4 for example. These are the people who decide what we see and hear", he said.

So what?

dillydally · 16/08/2005 16:27

Tim Henman clearly effeminate (sp?), has never worked down a mine and has fathered children, hence obvious sperm donor.

Some toddlers never outgrow irrational tantrums . . .

gingerbear · 16/08/2005 16:28

Wasn't he on Grumpy Old Men? Reminds me of one of the old gits off the Fast Show.

homemama · 16/08/2005 16:31

Ah, thanks DD.
Guess he throws like a girl

Roobie · 16/08/2005 16:31

"These are the people who decide what we see and hear" - shock, horror - fancy women being in such a position!

expatinscotland · 16/08/2005 16:33

Is he at all related to Kilroy-Silk?

Roobie · 16/08/2005 16:35

I quite liked Michael Buerk before this - didn't realise he was such an arse!

Caligula · 16/08/2005 16:36

LOL LOL LOL - I haven't yet got past the first paragraph.

Nearly all the big jobs are held by women, it's all gone too far, they'll be wanting to rule the country next and not content with that, they'll be expecting men to do some of the domestic work as well! Harumph!

Have I just stepped back into the seventies?

Caligula · 16/08/2005 16:38

Monkeytrousers, don't you know that those jobs belong by rights to men? It's absolutely shocking that women have got them. I mean, we're all in favour of women being allowed to have equal pay and all that stuff, but the idea of them actually having any decision-making power -well, harumph again!

monkeytrousers · 16/08/2005 16:40

Sorry, got to say it.

Whadda prick!

motherinferior · 16/08/2005 16:41

And girls are doing better at school, which is clearly Unnatural and the result of Something Nasty In the Water.

suedonim · 16/08/2005 16:56

This made me angry when I started reading it but then I began laughing - what a silly coot he is, surely no one will take this seriously!

monkeytrousers · 16/08/2005 17:01

Knows much about the laws of Malthus and not many about magnanimity and fair play.

Knob!

Just indulging my habit, sorry.

Nightynight · 16/08/2005 17:05

Have women broken beyond the 10% barrier in senior jobs then? How shocking!

homemama · 16/08/2005 20:23

Caligula, Your post reminded me of the shock and amazement expressed by a friends DD when John Major became PM. She was astounded that a man was allowed to have such a job!
She was 9 at the time and had known no different!

nooka · 16/08/2005 21:01

I have a feeling this is just Channel Five's Grumpy Old Men. Not saying that I agree with the views, but I just got the feeling that it may just be a little out of context.
