Bloody hell what a hero and why us there not guards on the escalator to stop kids being able to travle up the outside - not people guards but a sort of fence or something - am a bit worried now as is the sort of stupid thing DS would do - will be very escalator aware from now on me thinks!

Never mind the guards where was his dad. He seemed to come jogging up way after it had happened. I bloody hate escalators at the best of times, will be doubly cautious now!

Great catch, what a lucky little boy he is.

I worked in a department store where an 11yo boy fell from the 4th floor when playing on the escalator. He suffered multiple fractures. It was very shocking.

His mum sent him to the store to play to get him out of the way. First thing she knew about it was when the police came to tell her what had happened.
