Coming on here after a few drinks is always a bad move.

Wells aid Edam. And I respect anyone who has the guts to stand up for their own beliefs. It can take great character, especially I would have thought in such a competitive arena.

Hulababy · 07/08/2005 09:34

I don't even think this is to do with whether we should respect politicians or not. Just feel that there should be some sensitivity so close after someone's death. You never know who is reading this thread, on a public domain, so soon.

PeachyClair · 07/08/2005 09:37

You're right of course, Hulababy. It started off nicely too, It's not the first time this has happenned on a Saturday night, perhaps someone should start a Saturday night thread so they can leave the more sensitive threads alone/

I saw him at a Labour party meeting once (I'm not a member, was taken along by my dad) and he said he was too ugly to ever be PM... in this TV age when we are obsessed with appearances.

Bubble (12:40 last night),you are so right about the meaningless mandarin speak that is churned out to delude us into thinking that Something Is Being Done.

Lets make a list of particularly trite phases
How about

'targetting local communities'
'encouraging honest debate'
'embracing multi-culturalism'

Bleeeeeaaaaargggh!!!

Frank Dobson's commen t about him being more upset than he hypothetically thought he would have been, was bizarre,to say the least!

bubble99 · 07/08/2005 11:44

MD OK. Here goes.

Centres of Excellence.
Best practice.
Identification of wider learning opportunities.
Cascadence of identified learning.
Challenging (I had to get that one in again!)

and......get this.........

Deferred success ie. Failure What's wrong with a bit of failure? It strengthens character and encourages effort.

moondog · 07/08/2005 21:51

yingers74 · 07/08/2005 21:59

very sad, but at least he died doing something he loved and am sure that is the way we all want to go.

Caligula · 07/08/2005 22:02

"I've identified a training need" (translation: this tosser isn't doing his job properly.)

moondog · 07/08/2005 22:09

'identifying and meeting the different needs of the community'

'working on areas of need'

'rising to the challenge'

WideWebWitch · 07/08/2005 22:11

Haven't read the thread but I have (multiple here) used
'incorrectly prioritisated timings' = we missed the deadlines you wanted

WideWebWitch · 07/08/2005 22:11

prioritised I meant, I didn't make up a new word or anything, just used some old ones in crap but appropriate to the org way!

Caligula · 07/08/2005 22:12

LOL! some of these are worthy of Emperor Hirohito in their obscurantism.
