Heartbreaking, Peachy, that's what it is.

Lizzylou · 02/08/2005 12:18

Appalling, absolutely appalling.
The poor family of that young man, it's heartbreaking.

Toothache · 02/08/2005 12:18

OMG.

This story has really gotten to me as i actually live in huyton and it is devestating that something so horrible has happened it what is generally a nice area. Although it is a very racisit area as my sister has experienced

Louise1980 · 02/08/2005 12:36

OMG that is awful!

I try my hardest to prevent my children from being racist but when we were in the park a few weeks ago my ds1 whos 4 was bullied by a coloured child, about 6, who was spitting at my son. When my son asked this boy to stop he was told to "get lost white boy"

how can i explain to my kids that you dont call people just because thaier skin is a different colour when coloured kids do it to him?

I must stress Im NOT racist but neither am i hyporcitical like many coloured people in my area. You say they ae black you are racist, they say you are white thay are stating a fact!!!

it is a very sad story, what is happening in england,i worry about my son growing up,i dont want him to be soft also i dont want him to be a bully.like you say louise1980 how do you explain to them when they hear it from others.two wrongs dont make a right, but i would like to know he can stand up for himself.im worried!!!!!!

I can't understand this, I really can't. What makes someone so evil?

PeachyClair · 02/08/2005 19:47

I guess the only thing is to expose them to as many different cultures and other experiences as you can, and then trust you've brought thwm up well enough to make sensible decisions?

This is so desperately sad i hope they get the b***ds that did this. Im from Liverpool myself and things like this make me really worried especially for some of my mix raced friends.

I just wonder what is happening in the world at the moment. I live in Spain and like to catch up with UK news but it's just so depressing. I know it doesnt just happen in the Uk but it somehow hits me harder when it's something back home so to speak.

suedonim · 02/08/2005 21:32

Apart from the tragedy of this boy's death, what got to me was the way he was killed - with an axe embedded in his head. What sort of person wanders around carrying an axe, fgs? It's truly frightening.

monkeytrousers · 02/08/2005 21:43

This is why we can never let Wiltshire and her ilk get away with it, ever.

I haven't the words..

WestCountryLass · 02/08/2005 23:19

Suedonim, thats what scares me too
