Midwife being investigated in Aberdeen

I saw on the news a midwife from Aberdeen Maternity Hospital has been suspended amid some 'accusations' by a colleague.
Apparently no deaths are involved but it would still be worrying for me if I was due to deliver there...

Why worrying? If she's not done anything there's no danger and if she has, she's suspended so there's no danger.

if she's been supsended , then why worry? she's not there..

LynetteScavo · 26/04/2010 22:43

But she's been suspended...so you have no need to worry.

very difficult to comment on this without knowing further details tbh. have not found much on nmc although not sure of the timescale, although in the news now, hearing could have been last year sometime so could be a variety of cases.
Personally wouldnt worry too much as she has been suspended and after having one member of staff suspended they are likely to be altra careful and vigilant with their remaining members.

I've had 3 babies there, most recently 14 weeks ago and I have absolutely no cause for concern and would thoroughly recommend it - and I had a traumatic birth there so its not just that I've had positive experiences.

Apparently the alleged bad practices go back almost 20 years. THATS worrying.

Ive given birth at AMH twice. I had a really bad experience with one midwife and myself , and other mums on the ward made our feelings known. That was 15 years ago.

My youngest baby was born by emergency c section last year and I thought the team handling my scary situation were fantastic.
