Request for old copies of the Guardian (by old I mean from 7th April). Would also be interested in advice about sensible places to look.

my (not-a-journo) pa has been writing a daily column in guardian for election . dumb ass me has not been buying the paper. now want to do a scrapbook for him. He has been tearing them out, but know he'll never do anything with them other than scatter them round house.

really want to get hold of all copies from 7th (inc sat guardian). will pay for postage. anyone? also any intelligent pointers for other places to look.

many thanks

Contact Guardian back-issue sales. Or print off the web.

DrivenToDistraction · 24/04/2010 20:23

Try calling the guardian?

othersideofthechannel · 24/04/2010 20:25

Have News, Family and Review from Sat 10th.

Go to your nearest major library - they will have back copies. You'd better hurry though because they will digitise them within a few weeks.

moaningminniewhingesagain · 24/04/2010 20:28

I probably have most/all of them in my recycling bin - what exactly do you want - whole paper or just a section? The bin gets emptied on Monday

wedlocked · 24/04/2010 21:01

The library won't digitise them. Why would they? The Guardian is available online!

otherside and moaning - i will set up cat in the morning and email you. thank you loads.

print off web? gah where's the posterity in that, eh? but yes, blush, at not having rung guardian. i didn't know they had back issues sales people. did a couple of online searches and found a company who could flog them to me for fiver a time .

othersideofthechannel · 25/04/2010 06:55

You can email me at mner62 at yahoo dot fr

moaningminniewhingesagain · 25/04/2010 13:07

I hate to rush you but I am going out later and our paper bin really does get emptied tomorrow!

So if you could let me know what you need, otherwise I won't have time to look for it

lawrieisluckybutnickyisnicer · 25/04/2010 18:46

hiya moaning. cat'd you earlier and thought i'd posted here too but my message didnt come up so obvs not .

i think cat messages sometimes a bit slow. no worries if you don't have time to this

said this all in cat, sorry if repeating myself. they are called Smithson's bet of the day. It's been in the news section amongst the election coverage. every day inc saturday from 7th april. otherside has sat 10th so dont need that one.

i am in croydon, happy just to come collect any papers if you anywhere near? or if you had the energy to tear out any relevant pages for posting then i could paypal you for costs.

many thanks for anything you can do. even one article'd be ace. no worries if i've left it too late.
