At PMQ's today Gordon Brown was forced to admit he lied about the level of funding to the Chilcot enquiry, to the house and to the people of the country;

what a surprise.

We all know that he underfunded our troops, forced them to continue using unsafe Snatch vehicles at the same time as the Americans replaced their inadequate vehicles, and cut the budget for helicopters - at a time when other budgets were getting mega increases.

I wonder why he finally admitted he lied though? He has been denying it for years.

"I wonder why he finally admitted he lied though?"

Because they had the figures in black and white and were going to publish them.. no plausible deniability there was there.

disingenuous Brown, the man with the 'moral' compass.

If his mouth is moving then you can be sure that he is lying (or eating).

Labour have consistently underfunded the Armed Forces, especially Brown, who didn't 'get' defence as Chancellor.

They have a complete lack of joined up foreign and defence policy, and commit HM Forces for tasks at sea and on land for which the resources and manpower are inadequate.

This Government, more than any other, has broken the military covenant.
