It appears shocking indeed. But I'm just calculating that if she is 6 months pregnant and the series doesn't start until next month and these things go on for weeks and weeks, I presume she will be having her baby mid-series. Unless she intended to return to work immediately after the 2 weeks mandatory mat leave she would be missing for much of the series.

It would have been a good idea to discuss this with her of course especially given the current reputation for misogyny at the BBC.

And it's also a BBC hating Daily Mail article. It's a completely new show and all the judges have been replaced!

She hasn't been axed as such - she didn't have the job in the first place. Its similar to what happened with Arlene Philips in that respect.

I suppose its depends on how long its supposed to run for. If it is due to finish after her due date then I can see why they wouldn't want one of the judges missing for the final few shows. If it is due to finish before her due date and they are anticpating ill health, then that stinks.

(btw: If I was her I would be spending all my time at home with Lee Mead, sod work )

She wasn't axed because she was pregnant. She has been hired as a judge on the Sport Relief show 'Let's Dance' and shock horror, is pregnant.

Fact is, none of the judges are coming back - John barrowmnan has been 'axed' too (sob) - as far as I know, he isn't pregnant....

There is a huge difference between sacking someone and not hiring them.

Is John Barrowman pregnant too? Is it mine? I do hope so.

noeyedear · 19/02/2010 14:56

ewwww... unless in a threesome with Tennant of course...

SleepingLion · 19/02/2010 15:04

They've axed John Barrowman?

Pfffft: what's the bloody point in watching it then? I love him...

Unless they've replaced him with Lee Mead, I'll have to cross that off my list of 'things to watch'. Bother.
