Sad and angry that those poor kids have no mother...sad that the perpetrators will probably have every chance of getting out and having a family...12 years is just wrong. It should have been at least 18.

The sentences in the UK are a joke!! When is something going to be done about this?

Very sad for the lady who died and her poor kids.

However these boys were convcited of culpable homicide (manslaughter), not murder, presumably because the evidence was that they were not actively trying to kill. That is why the sentence is not what you would expect for murder.

Hmmmm... My father's ex nightmare wife (no 3) was very, very disturbed. Stabbed my father (didn't kill him). Went onto another relationship and ended up killing the man after they'd split and she was with someone else. She was imprisoned for two years. She was 26 at the time - 2006. This murder was also "downgraded" to manslaughter. Totally, totally bizarre sentence IMO.

As has been mentioned above, sentencing for killing in this country is a joke.

Life should mean life in this country and no chance of parole.

A 15 year old knows full well that starting a fire at the bottom of a stair while people are sleeping upstairs is likely to kill someone. They should have been tried and sentenced accordingly. Good God, what a disgrace to human kind they are.
