Small hijack: Do Boden's sizes run small or roomy?

Bicnod · 15/02/2010 09:11

Why was she talking about a netmums survey?

pagwatch · 15/02/2010 09:12
OrmRenewed · 15/02/2010 09:12

Definitely ironic joshing pag! I don't see how anyone can fail to see that. Unless of course they happen to just have a cursory look in order to write a snide piece in a paper of course

MmeLindt · 15/02/2010 09:13

I have been drawn into the Boden cult. I first noticed it when I found the hotchpotch cardy not bad. Soon I was ordering clothes, not just for myself but for the children too. I cannot seem to stop myself. DH is in despair.

Don't do it. It brings misery.

Just say NO

Bicnod · 15/02/2010 09:13

Pag I also assumed the boden thing was a joke...

MarshaBrady · 15/02/2010 09:13

A joke? Didn't know that. Oh well gives Boden loads of press.

suitejudyblue · 15/02/2010 09:14

She says "Chatrooms are, by their nature, lightweight, not the place to dissect family-friendly policies in any depth."
Regardless of the merit or otherwise of what else she says this is just plain wrong for MN.
I consider myself to be fairly well informed but I learn something everyday on MN simply by reading posts from others whose personal circumstances are very different to my own. I can then make more informed judgements about many many areas - famlit friendly policies included.

foxytocin · 15/02/2010 09:15

serious q pagwatch. IME their children's stuff run huge so I expect the adult stuff do as well? plus the quality didn't live up to the price.

foxytocin · 15/02/2010 09:16

agree te boden thing was a mn joke. it has been for donkey's years.

Tommy · 15/02/2010 09:17

I'm quite flattered that so much attention is being paid to us

If anyone really thinks that anyone would vote on the basis of whose wife is the nicest/what biscuits people like/what they wear...... then they really are livig in cloud cuckoo land or desperately scrabbling around for votes from anywhere

slightlystressed · 15/02/2010 09:18

THere are bullies on here, she's got that spot on. Quite nasty bullies.

Bonsoir · 15/02/2010 09:18

Why on earth would MNHQ invite JSP to their tenth anniversary party? What kind of parental role model could she be considered to be?

I cannot stand her. Vulgar and loud-mouthed!

pagwatch · 15/02/2010 09:20

[phew]

If people really were Boden worshippers I would have to question my weak grasp on reality

it's hardly news though is it?

I've always thought she was quite fun and feisty but I didn't realise she "wrote" for the DM or that she could get so cross about something so irrelevant

Do you think someone in the Invitations Department made a mistake and they really meant to invite SJP instead?

southeastastra · 15/02/2010 09:42

'Politicians should forget Mumsnet and instead target women over 40, many of whom are single and divorced.

These women are seeing their pensions tumble in value and are contemplating a much longer period at work than ever before.

They are more open to new ideas than their mothers' generation, use the internet, travel widely and are keen to acquire new skills and knowledge.

They hold the key to the election, not a bunch of middle-class, Boden-wearing yummy mummies.'

I don't wear boden and i'm not middle class blooming cheek

i always quite liked JSP as well.

Slartybartfast · 15/02/2010 09:43

is a direct quote from jsp

she has got mn wrong, there are plenty of single and divorced over 40's here,

Slartybartfast · 15/02/2010 09:44

oh snap southeast...

Igglybuff · 15/02/2010 09:49

I'm getting a bit bored of these MN bashing articles. Although it is amusing trying to decide if I match the MN profile...
I'm from Croydon. I like boden but think it's over priced. I don't drive, I'm not yummy and I love a greggs sausage roll (warm and greasy). But I probably am middle class and don't like .

RecycledIcicle · 15/02/2010 09:50

Prehaps the DM's feelings were hurt last year...

They certainly seem determined to stereotype us.

tartyhighheels · 15/02/2010 09:53

Boden on the invite - eeeewww, i wouldn't want to go either.

Bicnod · 15/02/2010 09:53

I'm getting a bit bored with them as well Iggly. It's funny how none of the anti-MN brigade never mention (or probably bother to look at) the incredibly supportive threads on here.

Yes there are loud, opinionated and sometimes bullying threads on MN, but there are also the quietly supportive ones which I for one have found an incredible resource since I discovered this site.

Grrrr.
