I wonder which former devotee wrote this?

No such thing as bad publicity? Or does it make us look like a bunch of beeeatches?

OP posts:

you dont have an argument Bonsoir, Conjecture that it is a MN Plant article & a stock photo is all the 'evidence' that you have put forward.

theres not a lot to go with there Bonsoir.

So intimating that i iz a bit thick innit - just won't cut it with this one my dear.

Bonsoir · 14/02/2010 12:04

Custardo - if you cannot fathom other people's posts, I think that is your responsibility to work on that, not theirs to walk you through them. foxinsocks understands my point.

Of course, no-one has any final proof of anything. However, I have worked on a strong hypothesis and tried to collect pointers that can be used to substantiate it.

Can we not debate the hypothesis politely, without accusing other posters of being silly?

Bumperlicious · 14/02/2010 12:05

No I didn't mean Aitch wrote the article, I meant I reckoned Aitch was invited. There must be others. It would be pretty crappy if the only mumsnetters at a party to celebrate MN were the 10 haiku winners.

Bonsoir, I'm not sure if it is good form to out the writer, I just searched for threads on doulas from about 3 years ago. MarsLady volunteered to be her back up in the end. I'm not usually a mumsnetter stalker I was just interested. TBH it wasn't a name I was really familiar with, but I think it is more because it is quite a generic name. It is easier to remember the Trinities, Aitches and MorningPapers than the mumtoDC1 and people who all have similar sounding names.

foxinsocks · 14/02/2010 12:06

isabel's going cos she's a journalist innit (I'm guessing)

that's why I reckon Caitlin's invited

yes maybe aitch

BUNDLE, how are you!

foxinsocks · 14/02/2010 12:07

yes, I do get your point and I think you're right.

perhaps your posts are coming across as a bit conspiritorial but I think the general theme is correct

Bonsoir · 14/02/2010 12:07

Bumperlicious - you are more generous to this journalist than I would be! I don't term that "stalking".

ruddynorah · 14/02/2010 12:08

ah i see. yes, rather far, but maybe..

Bonsoir · 14/02/2010 12:09

foxinsocks - I thought through my point "live" on the thread - it unravelled here in real time. That's why it looks, possibly, a bit conspiratorial - I didn't have a neat little boxed-up story ready. This thread is my rough book/research!

Tortington · 14/02/2010 12:11

Bonsoir, you cannot walk me through something that simply doesn't exist. I think we are being as polite as each other no? considering the inferrence that i am to dim to understand it is a staple point of a non existant argument.

foxinsocks · 14/02/2010 12:12

gah, my spelling is abysmal

conspiratorial

you know, I spent ages trying to think how condescending was spelt this morning (was thinking condasending ffs! ARGH!)

Cyb · 14/02/2010 12:12

Why didn;t the journo just 'take a break' like the rest of us do when we are pissed off with MN?

The site is soo much more then brown nosing politicians and bitchiness.

People help people out from, 'I can't cope with my children /house/life, please help!!' to 'Can anyone find me a brown belt to go with these boots?'

But that doesn;t make good reading, does it

activate · 14/02/2010 12:13

So the 10 year anniversary party doesn't include people who consider themselves the bedrock of these place? It is a PR stunt only.

That must bite!

Tortington · 14/02/2010 12:14

No CCyb, indeed, this site does so much good on a daily basis, but its not newsworthy.

Bonsoir · 14/02/2010 12:14

All right custardo, I give up.

People who fail to understand things around them are absolutely always right to claim that in fact there is nothing to understand, there is just emptiness.

Signed

Bonsoir

Cyb · 14/02/2010 12:15

Its a shame.

Makes you start thinking 'Have I been a bitch?'

Bumperlicious · 14/02/2010 12:15

Ooh, I had to post a comment to the last two twats that have added theirs on the site! All men bizarrely...

noddyholder · 14/02/2010 12:15

I think the positioning of the photo of justine sort of presiding over the article could be seen as a genius way of implying the article was approved but apart from that there is no concrete evidence that MN towers knew anything about it

DuelingFanjo · 14/02/2010 12:16

Bonsoir, but you are wrong about the whole photo thing.

Cyb · 14/02/2010 12:16

Yes don;t see what Mn towers would achieve by that at all, that article makes MN sound shit

violethill · 14/02/2010 12:16

Tis all a pile of wank anyway.

You're all invited round mine instead - will be far superior

DuelingFanjo · 14/02/2010 12:17

"I think the positioning of the photo of justine sort of presiding over the article could be seen as a genius way of implying the article was approved"

only by people who don't understand journalism and photo use.
