I wonder which former devotee wrote this?

No such thing as bad publicity? Or does it make us look like a bunch of beeeatches?

you'll turn up at the airport with a sense of well-being from talking to people on here but no knickers

Cyb · 14/02/2010 14:57

Well , just to stop all the rumours and whispers....

I'm not on the list.

As you were

ahundredtimes · 14/02/2010 14:58

Oh, we knew THAT Cyb

violethill · 14/02/2010 14:58

I might be on the list

Cyb · 14/02/2010 14:58

Hey!

ahundredtimes · 14/02/2010 14:59
Grin
Cyb · 14/02/2010 15:00

I might just turn up anyway...swagger in with enough bravado...what can they possibly do?

Actually I'm not that bothered

ahundredtimes · 14/02/2010 15:01

You're conflicted. I can tell.

violethill · 14/02/2010 15:02

After all this hype it's bound to be a letdown anyway

Cyb · 14/02/2010 15:03

It all depends if there are sausages on sticks

foxinsocks · 14/02/2010 15:03

lol violet. We're all coming to yours!

violethill · 14/02/2010 15:10

Absolutely. We'll get bladdered and swear as much as we want!

No fannying about with canapes or arse licking minor slebs

Ingles2 · 14/02/2010 15:14

What a wishy washy little piece of writing..obviously can't quite bring herself to completely slag off the board, especially if she's had lots of support on miscarriages...
Doesn't really say anything.. very meh..
as for the stock photo...
Bonsoir, got to say you're wrong about photo rights. The author or owner of that image will have put it in a library where it's available for resale..usually it's the photographer, especially if the pic has been taken for the papers as they don't pay for buy out. The model will have signed a model release and after publication, rights revert back to the author to allow resale.
Occasionally rights belong to the model or subject but if they place the image in a library they will be paid for usage but will not have any say in where or when it is used, nor be notified in advance.

Hello.

Sorry it's taken us a while to pick up on this thread - we've all been screaming at our children doing nice family-Sunday things.

Anyhoo, before too many conspiracies theories take hold, we wanted to say that neither Carrie nor Justine (nor anyone else at MNHQ) knew anything about this article. It is as much a surprise to us as it is to you.

Ingles2 · 14/02/2010 15:18

so who's on the invite list btw?

TeflonMum · 14/02/2010 15:27

Pointless load of (fucking) waffle.

ahundredtimes · 14/02/2010 15:28

Agh, don't worry about it Ingles. It's a separate networky thing this party, isn't it. And all that it's gone to Justine and Carrie's head stuff just bitching and meanness, imo.

We don't need to worry our pretty heads about it. Nice to see you btw

Ingles2 · 14/02/2010 15:37

you're right of course 100x, but I do love a good vol-au-vent...
Nice to see you too btw... how you been? and the dog?

LIZS · 14/02/2010 15:37

Seems sad for the writer to bite the hand that has fed her so to speak. It is nothing that hasn't been said publicly before but somehow the article feels a bit lacking in any new dimension. Wonder if she has been editted and her original point has been lost ?

lostinwales · 14/02/2010 15:38

Ah Liz, does she not realise that benign neglect has become my main level of parenting since I discovered MN? How would I have time to sit at my laptop all day if I cared a flying fig what the DS' were up to?

nighbynight · 14/02/2010 15:40

The article is slightly odd, she could have given far better examples.

Looking back over ten years of companionship went kind of titsup after the moldies thing anyway, so its not surprising that the celebration takes the form of an insiders dinner.

DuelingFanjo · 14/02/2010 15:47

"there is something on this thread that MNHQ doesn't want to be public knowledge?"

like what?

frakkinaround · 14/02/2010 15:48

Interestingly, if you look at the threads, particularly the au pair one, there were MUCH bitchier comments. Overall MN came off very well so I have a new theory: the journo was actually checking MN at work and her editor found it and wanted her to write an article on us....

MN has had a lot of publicity lately, some of it very positive, some of it less so and it's kind of inevitable really!

nighbynight · 14/02/2010 15:50

lol frakking. thats obviously it.

foxinsocks · 14/02/2010 15:52

is it a dinner? I thought it was just drinks
