The gowns they use at the min are fkg hideous and to me contribute to the 'leave your dignity at the door' mentality you have to go in with.

Why has it taken them so long to change them?

They were cheap... that's why it's taken so long to replace them. The new design is more expensive and I'm sure hospital bosses are well aware that if they make the gowns too attractive they'll go the way of the hotel towel.... i.e. taken home in their thousands!
