Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...

PollyTroll · 08/02/2010 18:40

When this whole story started about five (?) years ago, my mother said 'that guy is bent' (this was back when most good lefties thought he was a victim of discrimination). Once again, My Mother Was Right.

Bumperlicious · 08/02/2010 21:44

Haven't really followed. Is he the victim of a witch hunt or was there no smoke without fire?

CaptainUnderpants · 08/02/2010 21:49

No smoke without fire ! I would imagine alot of things will come out of the woodwork now that have up to now been hussed up by him and his cronies .

Alot of policeman were jumping for joy today when they heard the verdict and I think alot in the Black Police Association are keeping quiet about it being a 'witch hunt' because they know that he was a rotten apple and abused his situation

He managed to use the race card to further his own interests and get away with what he was doing for so long.

How many people from an ethnic background will now have problems getting promotions because of this clown abusing a system that is supposed to be there to help? How many people should have had his job had he not conned his way to the top?

kreecherlivesupstairs · 09/02/2010 07:51

Like the OP said, it couldn't have happened to a nicer man.

edam · 09/02/2010 20:50

some witch hunt - CCTV clearly showed he was lying, and the medical evidence was very firm that his 'injuries' were self-inflicted.

giveitago · 09/02/2010 23:44

I never liked this guy - hope he serves his full sentence and a bit thanksto the little hguy who had to balls to finally stand up to this W.A.N.K.E.R.

Take a cop at his wife - she is called 'shy' apparently dressed up in her furs. Nice one.

moondog · 09/02/2010 23:49

What a swine he was and yes, bloody hell, the guy that stood up to him deserves a medal. He has additionally wreaked havoc in terms of race relations.

always good when the corrupt get their come-uppance but how can one man affect the position of ethnic minorities any more than one corrupt white man can affect the position of all other white men?

My goodness, how quickly a thread turns to an attack on racists.

Never mind doing "ethnic" whatever police no favours, he's done coppering itself no favours. Don't you think that's more important?

He used his race, that's why it's getting attention. He drew attention to it

"I don't think it would be getting quite as much press if he'd been white."

You implied racism there though. Sorry if I misinterpreted what you wrote, but it looks to me like you believe there's racism in the coverage.

probono · 10/02/2010 08:35

Which is the nastier coverage, I've only looked at BBC.

probono · 10/02/2010 08:42

Ok have looked at DM and the Telegraph, don't see anything nasty, and looked at Sun and Express but they dropped it already. Can you give examples?
