I am really pleased Fabio has sacked him and a bit surprised to be honest as I thought he wouldn't when he said he would make his decision based on what was best for the team.

I really hope his wife kicks him out as well.

Footballers like this are utterly disgusting aren't they.

I dread to thnk how JT's wife feels. But this latest woman is just one of many isn't she.

Very interesting article re Wags in Sunday Times today, basically saying that footballers are treated like little princes from a young age, the club really takes care of every aspect of their life, encourages them to settle down with childhood sweetheart and have kids early (so not out on the razz all the time), with the effect that they play the field because they 'haven't got it out of their system'.

There wass a horrible paragraph where it said the Man U 2007 xmas party, none of the girlfriends and wives were invited, and a load of hairdressers, hangers on, party girls etc were invited in order to provide 'fun' for the boys.

With that kind of club sanctioned activity going on, is it any wonder that footballers turn into boorish, faithless maniacs.

Quite a few people get super-injunctions and they are very often merited. Don't believe all the self-serving media whinging.

Didn't see the second page here before I posted.

AF, agree with you that Rooney 'allegations' were long ago.

Don't much care for bad-tempered, drug-test-avoiding Ferdinand. Seems odd to appoint him capt. in midst of his current suspension. On the other hand, am aware he was vice-capt, so assume Capello is just sticking with his original pecking order? And, to be fair, Ferdinand is consistently pointed out in the press as doing stuff for charity.

Also have to agree with AF - what do so many women see in these boring plug ugly arrogant fit millionaires?

He's happy for his wedding, wife and kids to be in OK magazine so he can't cry that he wants to keep his family life private. I could understand that as being a good reason for an injunction. But wasn't the main reason for the injunction really so he could protect his sponsorship deals? He only gets many of these because he was the captain of the England football team. As far as I can see he is a money grabbing, greedy, nasty man.

EldritchCleaver · 07/02/2010 21:38

Quite, preggers, it seemed to be mainly about his reputation, not his privacy. That's why this injunction didn't get maintained. But some rightly are.

Gazing into my crystal ball...... In the 10 minutes with Capello, Terry will have been asked to step down as Cap, keep his nose clean and stay out of the papers for the next few months. Just prior to the World Cup he will be photographed lots doing nice things for charities etc., and ushered back into the top job as the humble, chastened JT

They'd put Beelzebub himself in an England shirt they thought it would help us win the World Cup.
