news says OK so far but stocks will need to be rebuilt. I can't go either, on medication

Best not to donate today unless they specifically put out a request. They will be snowed under trying to deal with coordinating existing supplies.

Unless you have a rare blood group it is best to donate in the following days and weeks to build the blood bank back up again.

Am going to go and give blood next week, just made an appointment. Don't know what else to do to help.

actually its o neg they run out of fastest (I'm O neg and I always feel bad when I can't go). But agree best to go later this week.

I have just telephoned the number on your link misdee and they say that supplies are OK at present and if they need to top up they will make an announcement via the web or TV.

yes o neg is the one that can be given to most people in an emergency, which is why its the one that they run short of most often.
