She wants us all to live in a massive commune where we all cover Tim Dowling in honey and each get a small slot in each day where we can do what we like with him

I said it was a terrible idea obviously but obviously I owe her a great deal so I'll go along with it (my slot is in ten minutes time btw)

(ok I have not actually listened yet)

Honey, eh? That would explain all the wasps in his office.

I've listened to it now

Justine talked a lot about HV and breastfeeding support and said sensible things

Tim Dowling has a nice calming sort of voice that makes you want to lie down and have a nap

I thought the point about SureStart Centres being DOOMED was a bit worrying: they have just finished investing about 10 million in our local ones which haven't even been officially opened yet

It's fairly standard Tory policy to not give flying feck about young families, particularly single one

this one saves a lot of money so it's an obvious target

Yep HVs do not tackle the social isolation and the SS centres here seem only really just to be starting work properly really

yes yes they will make it only available for the very poorest and it will become a stigmatised and underused ghetto.

LoL at scaffolding. I considered a tie-on shelf when I was bfing. Like an usherette.

You are right OMB it really would be awful wouldn't it - at the mo, at least SureStart is open to ALL and while we KNOW it targets those in need, it's inclusivity means that everyone is happy to go there. If it became a creepy badge of shame where you went to get shouted at by health --visitors- it would be tragic.

I know it always happens this way with a change of government... but SS was a GREAT idea and really has had so much money poured into it and so much resources. If it all stops it will be just utterly sad.
