Agree sixty, I couldn't understand what point she was trying to make.
I am a smoker, but would never do that.
It would be a waste of a good tab.

SoWhat · 20/01/2010 10:13

What a silly girl.

4andnotout · 20/01/2010 10:21

I think it is a bit of an over reaction tbh, if it were a lit fag i'd have been shocked but we have several pictures of myself with a pretend roll up as a young child and i have pictures of my dd's holding empty lager cans and i'm a normal parent.

mayorquimby · 20/01/2010 11:57

WTF is this. Complete over-reaction and waste of police time. It's obvious that the mum won't have a 6 month old smoking and was just trying to be funny. Are the police going to investigate every photo a parent take of them holding their children up to the wheel of the car on the basis of driving without a licence?

SilveryMoon · 20/01/2010 11:59

My dp was outraged by this. I had to tell him to get a grip. I have a photo of myself under 6 months with an unlit cigerette in my mouth.
My parents thought they were being funny, and i do laugh at it (more at my dad's haircut and the 80's wallpaper though)

rosiejoy · 20/01/2010 12:11

What a non-story!

When i saw title i did think it was going to be someone I knew actually!

Dps family not from uk, dont want to say where, but a member of his family has a picture of baby with (unlit) cigarette in its mouth.

It's a bit silly, and I wouldn't do it myself.

The comments are funny (on dailymail site), but even they are more concerned with her grammar!

dweezle · 20/01/2010 17:35

She should be done for crimes against the english language....

QOD · 20/01/2010 17:38

madness, I agree her only real crime was her shocking iliteracy!
It's a JOKE photo - I see no real harm - much worse if he were an older child.
Waste of tax payers money

bluebump · 20/01/2010 17:41

I too have a picture of myself when I was under 6 months too with an unlit cigarette in my mouth SilveryMoon! I was more in danger from passive smoking than posing for a daft picture.

onagar · 20/01/2010 17:49

What nonsense. The person who reported her wants locking up.

LittleWhiteWolf · 21/01/2010 21:37

Le sigh...
(at jumped up DM readers getting their knickers in a twist because of the language more than anything and because...shock horror, she's a teen mum!)

BadGardener · 21/01/2010 21:44

I thought overreaction too.
I have a photo of my dd aged 11 months supposedly drinking coke - the can isn't open - don't see why the unlit fag photo is any worse....
Unless you are going to ban smoking around children entirely, which has not yet happened.

Tryharder · 22/01/2010 09:06

Er...Am surprised by the people on here who think it's alright. Is it child abuse? Probably not. But it's deeply unfunny to the point that I would worry for the future wellbeing of any child whose parent thought this was OK. What next? A lit cigarette, then a joint, then getting the baby pissed and filming that. Hilarious, eh?

What a sad fucker this mother must be. Get a life.

4andnotout · 22/01/2010 09:41

Tryharder, yes because obviously all of us who have been pictured with unlit fags in our mouths have grown up to be highly disfunctional adults

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 22/01/2010 09:49

it's odd isn't it that there's such outrage over it.

I'm a smoker - and have never thought of setting up a photo like that with my DS's.

However I have photos off all 3 DS's holding alcohol cans/bottles/glasses of some description at varying ages.........they're funny - especially the one of DS1 aged 4 months clasping onto a glass of whisky

Maybe it's because it's a cigarette there's more outrage?
