Channel 4 footage from Haiti - so sad

Have just watched the Channel 4 news footage from Haiti and am now feeling so sad.

They showed bodies being dumped in mass graves and then showed a little baby just lying dead on the ground near one of these heaps.

Please please tell me that after getting their shock value footage someone from the film crew will have found a nice place to bury the baby

I saw it too Mrsjuan

wasn't it just awful. Poor little thing.

I had to turn away but the image is still now burned on my mind and I think it will stay there for a long time.

It must be so desperate there

I just hope that all the donations make a difference and it doesn't just get forgotten about when the next big news story comes along.

Ds1 wouldn't let me turn over, I turned the channe over twice but he insisted I turn it abck again so we saw the whole report.

I was unsure if we ought to watch it out of duty

I hope things improve quickly there too.

I thought it was quite shocking for pre watershed tv but he did give fair warning I suppose.

I know what you mean about a sense of duty - it's so easy to put it to the back of your mind until you see something like that.

It keeps making me cry just thinking about it.

How is it fair that I have a lovely baby if my own safe asleep upstairs with so many people that love her and that poor little thing was just dumped all on their own. I just want to go and pick him or her up and make it all ok

And I know that that's just one story out of thousands.

MrsJ I know how you feel

it is horrific

but that poor tiny baby is gone...he or she doesn't feel anything bad happening now, they are in no pain. that's the only comfort I can find in it at all

It makes me desperately want there to be a God and a Heaven, I have never been certain.

mrsjuan · 17/01/2010 21:41

I know - that is the only comfort there is.

I suppose it's just really brought it home to me because the baby looked about the same age as my DD.

I have already donated some money - I wish there was more we could do.

I saw it too mrsjuan and it made me cry. The Haitians are suffering terribly at the moment. I have a 6 week old baby and that Channel 4 footage of the little dead baby really hit home. hopefully my donation will make a small difference to someone's life out there.
