I have just found this by accident on bbcnews website...........

Obviously we all TRY to be careful what we do and dont look at on t'web but it never occurred to me to be wary of this website!

It has been reccomended soooooooo many times on mn.

I only know of it because of MN

And because I know that people will now say "Um what is sparklebox?"

I dont understand, why is it a problem, its a resource site for staff and parents not a chat room or nay childrens pictures?

It was HIS website
He committed offences to do with abusing children, changed his name and then set up this website

He did so deliberately so he could have a way to contact children. Im sure I read that the is/was a forum facility on the website somewhere. He collects pictures of children......... and not the sort I have in my photo album!

It was used by loads of schools and was/is a fantastic resource.

I am totally eek at the fact that I have spent ages browsing through the site, getting ideas and printing stuff - and he in some way has benefited (revenue from the adverts on the site at the very least)

i didnt know there was a forum or somewhere to post pics, im which case it is a huge problem, I only ever used it as a way of getting resources.

Apparently some LAs have blocked access to the site from school computers as a precaution. If you look on the TES website under the forums, there's a lot more info on the story.
