With the contract with KCH terminated, the Albany Mums along with support from Baroness Cumberlidge, the NCT, the Royal College of Midwives, Independent Midwives and the Association for Improvements in Maternity Services are expanding the 'SavetheAlbany' campaign to become a campaign for a radical reform of maternity services offered to mums across the country.

Sorry but until the report is published I'm not prepared to sign the petition

Don't be sorry.

If you have any doubts as to the positive effect knowing your own midwife throughout your pregnancy, having her pager number so that you can contact her night or day, with any concerns you may have as well as access to bi-weekly drop in antenatal groups (followed up by weekly drop-in post natal groups) plus her visiting you daily for the week after birth and continuing to have the same midwife for the following 30 days after birth... well you will still need to read the report

it's available directly from the hospital, you can ask for a copy here:
The report commissioned by King?s College Hospital (King?s) in respect of adverse outcomes at the Albany Group Practice, is available on request from King?s via email on [email protected] or by phone 0203 299 3257.

By the way, as the report DOES NOT recommend closing the Albany - CMACE have issued a statement distancing themselves from that action:
" The report itself provides full explanations for the recommendations made. Explanation for any actions taken beyond those recommended made by the report would need to be sought from King?s."

It can be read in full here:
