Some of these are brilliant

I particularly like 'Maybe he's born with it... Maybe it's Maybelline'

Ha haha! They're great, thanks for the link. I think that my fave is perhaps the BBC one, or maybe the baldness Etonsmarm one!

FrauKoch · 15/01/2010 23:50

But Atlantis, they're not half as well done. I accept they may be more to your political taste (though I think doing anyone up as Hitler is an automatic fail, a la Godwin's Law).

wahwah · 16/01/2010 09:36

'Etonsmarm', a perfect coinage.

"But Atlantis, they're not half as well done. I accept they may be more to your political taste "

That's because they are from ordinary people and haven't had the money thrown at the the Labour party spent on the cameron ones.

I was actually looking for the labour conference one with gordon at the podium and the grim reaper looking down at him, but was told that Labour didn't find it amusing and made them take it down (so i'm glad I saved a copy then!).

And I do find some funny, especially the hoodie one (but shhh, don't tell anyone).

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 16/01/2010 14:19

atlantis, the names of the 'artists' are at the bottom of the page... doesn't require money-throwing, just a copy of photoshop and a sense of humour!

To be fair, though, the simplicity of the poster makes it particularly easy to mess about with.

comixminx · 16/01/2010 16:42

Yes, as Theheathenofsuburbia says, I don't believe the Cameron ones are done as any sort of Labour-funded activity - this is what it says on their FAQ:
"Who's behind this site?
MyDavidCameron.com was built by Clifford Singer, creative director at Sparkloop graphic design agency and creator of the Other TaxPayer's Alliance website. The website is voluntary and unfunded, and not linked to any political party ? nor is Clifford a member of any. Whether you are Labour, Liberal Democrat, Green, Respect, or something so obscure that we've never even heard of you ? you're welcome here, as, of course, are members of no party at all."

Yes your right, but the posters were designed by go4th.

here

Which is a LABOUR site and their aim is to get the party elected for a 4th term.

policygarry · 16/01/2010 17:44

Most of them aren't by Go4th - the mydavidcameron site put up the image and the tools to manipulate it. Most of the spoofs are by individual bloggers/posters/ordinary Joesphines.

atlantis, you might enjoy these lolcats about the Hoon/Hewitt plot

OP posts:
SomeGuy · 16/01/2010 18:03

Labour have also put one of the images up on their official website.

They are quite good though. I like the Elvis one.

policygarry · 16/01/2010 18:07

Three more Cameron ones here

I'm not trying to argue that this is powerful political discourse or anything. Of course it's all completely childish. But some of them do make me laugh.

OP posts:
atlantis · 16/01/2010 22:10

I like the 'clean cut young man one' , i'm not fond of the 'class war' stuff, it's so old it's gotten boring now.

sanfairyann · 16/01/2010 22:15

liked the 'some of my best friends are poor people' one

how can class war be boring? they can't be doing it right these days
