I was looking for a thread about that man with bi-polar disorder who was executed in China this morning. It's so sad, I can't believe they killed him. Despite its growing industrial and economic power China is extremely backward in terms of human rights and freedoms and, frankly, just basic humanity. The real pity is how world leaders overlook this and the barbarc atrocities that China commits on a daily basis because they are blinded by the pound/dollar signs. I understand the argument that economic interdependence will eventually force more western values to be the accepted norm but sadly I do not agree that this really works.
