What do you think? Will this beaurocracy do more than good for our children?

I think its down to money, as usual. Schools pay to get CRBs done for everyone who wants to e.g. help / be a temporary dinner lady / go on an educational visit but then by the time they come through the would be helper has changed their mind or isn't available and its all for nothing. It must feel like a job and a bill they could do without particularly if the adult is not going to be unsupervised by a member of staff. However - there are wicked people out there. However again - these checks only uncover criminal records, they don't disclose potential abusers. On balance I think they are necessary in the current climate of public opinion.
