The family are local to me - one of the men involved was a very highly regarded Obstetrician, they are very well known in the upper echelons of society here in Bordeaux.
Some of the facts are wrong in the article - it fails to mention the 96 year old Grand-dame who is also being held captive and the fact that there are currently negotiations going on with the family and lawyers and sect breakers and the police in Oxford; or the fact that one of sons in law 'broke away' and has spent the last 5 years trying to convince the French authorities that something terrible was going on.
Apparently the whistle was finally blown by the employer of one of the women (who is now working as a cook in oxford!)who thought her behaviour was odd (she was being tortured) and googled her name and came up with information on her family and the sect.
Fascinating. How the hell did he convince a WHOLE, wealthy, highly educated and aristocratic family to sell everything, hand everything over to him and then protect him.
He was arrested in Switzerland and is in prison in Bordeaux. The family are denying everything and will not let anyone in through the door.
