I met him as a child, he was a lovely man.

Was just reading the sky news bit on him, and i never knew he was masrried to michelle dotrice from frank spencer!

Strangely enough, dh and I were talking about him yesterday, as dd was watching her Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em box set for the millionth time. I made her laugh with the Ewar Woowar joke. He was a friend of Michelle Dotrices father, iirc.
Very sad.

I always think of him when reading MN baby name threads, I'm sure his wouldn't have passed the MN jury!

loved The Equaliser.

He used to live near us in Cornwall, and he was always really involved in local events and did lots for the community.

He was also brilliant in Hot Fuzz (amongst others, but I was watching this the other day)

I have just heard this on the radio.

I thought he was younger than 79.

Oh, tell me the Ewar Woowar joke - obviously I see what has happened but can't remember how the joke goes.
He was fab in Hot Fuzz, had forgotten about that. Db and I loved the Equaliser!
