story here

unbelievable that children so young are feeling pressured to have a tan. And how can they afford it if they are from the poorer families anyway. so sad - the govt doing all they can to cut skin cancer by the "slip slap slop" campaign and these young girls thinking they will be Ok

should it not just be illegal for under 18s?

It should be illegal for everyone under the age of 85.

I have only ever known one person who frequented sun beds. I used to tell her she was asking for cancer. And I refused to join her. A few years later, in her thirties, guess what she said? She had developed skin cancer. She cought it early and had everything that looked like it might be amole removed from her bidy, and she is fine now.

The doctor told her that people who are sun burned at a young age arre most likely to develop malanomas (sp?).

And I think parents show allow their pre teenagers to get onto sun beds should be reported to ss.
