It was 1990 - I'd hardly call that recent!

lucy - you'll be fine (and I know this next comment might not be the most helpful thing anyone has ever said to you)

BUT - you're at a MUCH higher chance of being in a car accident on the way to the airport than an accident involving the plane.

SaintGeorge · 13/06/2005 10:25

lucykatie - unless you are volunteering to pilot the aircraft I wouldn't worry about getting sucked through the windscreen. And if you sit a few rows back then all the people in front will get sucked out first anyway and block the hole.

See - you'll be fine

RTKangaMummy · 13/06/2005 10:28

Yes it definatley happened there was a TV programme about it last week interviewing all of those involved

The screws for the window were the wrong size when the window was replaced

They all survived even the captain

lucykatie · 13/06/2005 10:35

saint george...i will pre book my seats then.

ah i knew you would all help, my sister must of seen the programme last week i presume.

i keep telling myself that all is well etc, and yeah the facts about car travel as opposed to air travel have all been said.

BUT....i panic, and even paniced on 1 hour flight in feb, had panic attack mid-flight.

not great, my 2 dds are with me this time and i really do not want to frighten them, my dd1 loves flying. so any suggestions would be helpfull.

I think was in a recent Sunday supplement too (along the lines of "I survived..."). An amazing story.
