His column on Tracey Emin in today's Observer is genius

Plus Alexis Petridis (another funny man) was funny about David Mitchell yesterday in some never-ending loop of borderline-boiler funniness.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Great article from David Mitchell as ever. He makes perfectly valid points in a very amusing way. Like him very much.

Pyrocanthus · 11/10/2009 13:54

Me too.

ShowOfHands · 11/10/2009 14:02

I like him very much indeed.

at Fajitas. Don't suppose there's any privileged information you'd like to share with 800,000 strangers on the internet?

Please?

ilovemydogandmrobama · 11/10/2009 14:17

@ fajitas, and promise to keep it a secret

Pyrocanthus · 11/10/2009 14:21

NormaStanleyFletcher · 11/10/2009 14:26

ta

mollyroger · 11/10/2009 14:30

v funny, intelligent - and very allurig - man.

ShowOfHands · 11/10/2009 15:16

Yes, dinner invite here too. Tell him not to be alarmed when I stare at him for prolonged periods and Say Silly Things. It's just that I love him quite a lot.

mollyroger · 11/10/2009 15:17

I don't have a big enough house to invite him to a dinner party.
He'd have to sit on my lap......

TheMissingLink · 11/10/2009 15:21

Is it very hot there too? Would he have to disrobe?

PoppyDeLaFoof · 11/10/2009 15:23

He is a genius. I think I love him.

MaryAmericanSmooth · 11/10/2009 15:24

policywonk · 11/10/2009 15:24

Well that's one competitor out of the way. Only 15 million to go.

"I'm definitely not keen on rich installation artists moaning about engineering work on their gravy train line"

brilliant!

zanz1bar · 11/10/2009 19:58

He said everything that I felt welling up in my bile about our Trace.

It was perfection.

policywonk · 11/10/2009 20:53

Yes, I loved the engineering works line too. He does manage to work about ten brilliant one-liners into every article.

loved the article too. spot on.
tracy and her ilk (damian hurst also springs to mind - although I don't think he has commented on the 50% tax rate) probably cannot see that the huge prices paid for her unmade bed and other nonsense which have made her rich are a direct result of the whole credit bubble.
she happened to be making crap art in the right place at the right time.
if i was her, i'd pay my taxes, consider myself very lucky indeed and keep my mouth shut.

AvrilH · 12/10/2009 14:22

feelsa even more confused re F Nightingale

thepumpkineater · 12/10/2009 19:25

DS (nearly 14) went to see him at the Chelt Lit festival with my sister and family (I couldnt get tickets!). He and cousin (17) thought he was fab....such a good role model for teen boys. Being clever is cool

Obviously I love him too.....
