Just read it. Poor man.

Will have to tell my mum later if she hasn't heard, she's a huge fan of Patrick Swayze.

At least he died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

Very sad. Also a thread on Chat - so other people have posted their sadness at this news there. Have just seen a clip on tv where he came in as a couple were doing the Dirty Dancing dance and took over dancing with the woman to great applause. Hope we will see more clips.

Must just say he lived for very long time after his pancreatic cancer diagnosis. It usually carries people off in just a few months.

Feel a bit teary about this actually, which isn't like me.

But growing up in the 80s he was the sexiest man I had ever seen. I still enjoy an evening of watching Dirty Dancing and eating ice cream like I did with girlfriends growing up.

I think I am starting to feel old.

Feel unusually sad, he just seemed to be fighting so hard.

Very sad about this. I don't think he was the world's finest actor but I would have watched almost anything he was in after I first saw Dirty Dancing (swoon). One of the most appealing things about him was his long and happy marriage to his wife, Lisa.

He died yesterday.

I'm sad as all i can think of is Darrell Curtis is no longer with us.... Loved him in the outsiders!!! That was my Patrick Swayze film!

Just watched a bit of his interview, when he talked about his cancer.

He quoted a line from Ghost, where Molly finally 'sees' Sam again, as he says his final goodbye and goes into the light.

'It's amazing Molly, the love, you take with you. See ya'
