in the news today

I see they suggest chicken as an alternative but personally I think it's even more likely to be full of nasties... (unless you lovingly roast an organic one yourself of course, purely for the dcs sarnies!)

Honestly though, is there anything left that isn't bad for us or dc? I feel so bombarded with 'guidlines' and research and findings I don't care anymore.

It has been known for ages that too much of any cured meats (whether 'nice' or crap) has possible carcinogenicity. As does burned meat.

But really, how much do you put in a child's sandwich? Not a lot because its tasty in small quantities, yes?

DD doesn't get much ham anyway because the only sorts she likes are parma or Richard Woodalls cumbrian equivalent so she gets little, and rarely!

Have just read the article in more detail and they say it's the fat content as well. The 'formed from' un-nice ham only has a small fat content. Maybe they mean the expensive stuff with a fat collar.
