Thread no 2

OP posts:
Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:10

unless i was quoted directly in coronation street my mil wouldn't get it

even then...

KingCanuteIAmAndTheDMCanFOff · 15/08/2009 01:10

That is right, the name is not the issue, if you read something thst seems to sound remarkably like something the DIL may have said then you are going to suspect if not actually know it is DIL who is posting!

anyoldDMfucker · 15/08/2009 01:10

but there are people who have been found out on here without the daily garbage helping. why make those chances any higher

Platesmasher · 15/08/2009 01:11

my MIL sends me newspapers articles that might interest me. she cuts the out and sends them in the post. it could get messy.

Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:11

thats just fucking weird

Platesmasher · 15/08/2009 01:13

what? my MIL?

Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:13

www you are posting trez weird - are you the original www - if so are you trez pissed ?

Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:14

yeah your mil

who does that?

KingCanuteIAmAndTheDMCanFOff · 15/08/2009 01:14

Lol, well I don't have a MIL but my ExH would definitly recognise a lot of what I post/have posted - and would read the DM (well after the pictures had been worn out of course [blurgh]) and a lot of the stuff I could use MNers help with is just the sort of sensational stuff that a paper like the DM could really go town on - scandal, drama, pain and suffering... cannon fodder to that rag IMO - and my stuff is not anywhere near as sensetive or sensational as some of the other stuff available here!

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 01:14

No am not pissed and am the original WWW, what is weird? That I said I didn't think my MIL would recognise me?

Platesmasher · 15/08/2009 01:15

she also sends biscuits

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 01:15

And the Mark Stephens posts were in response to the stuff about his site.

Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:17

ne'er mind

Platesmasher · 15/08/2009 01:17

now i'm having visions of her sending me a cutout of an article about MIL's who send newspaper articles and biscuits to their DIL's.

KingCanuteIAmAndTheDMCanFOff · 15/08/2009 01:18

Right, off now.... night all

ooh - the daily mail sucks cheesefeet btw - did you know that?

Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:18

pmsl @biscuits

thats nice!

anyoldDMfucker · 15/08/2009 01:19

so then what do you end up with when people have to posting details to explain their problems. a place thats nothing like mumsnet

talk to me about breastfeeding after 1 year old. my child is older than one and someone i know thinks i should stop

well i fed all of mine past 1 year and still feeding one quite a bit older. some people saiid i should stop but i told them id stop when i and they was ready to stop.

how old were they when the older one(s?) stopped

well they were all older than 1

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 01:20

(Custy, seriously, what's weird?)

Platesmasher · 15/08/2009 01:20

well, ok the biscuits are for the kids.
(but they can't read the letters yet )
but she did send her homemade flapjacks in the post after I had DS1. They were definitely for me.

Sigh.

Night night all.

Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:21

seriously? whatever i put sounds like a dig

and i always consider your posts utterly sensible and considered.

despite ...well you know

Mumcentreplus · 15/08/2009 01:21

but are they home-made biscuits?..that shit would freak me out

Tortington · 15/08/2009 01:22

well shes not bought 49p spar digestives

Platesmasher · 15/08/2009 01:23

jammy dodgers.

arf.

pmsl and realising this sort of shit could seriously jeapordise my reputation on here.

TheDailyMailHatesWomenAndLemon · 15/08/2009 01:23

Most of the older members of DH's family do that (with the newspaper cuttings).

DH's grandparents cut out an article about the rise in gonorrhoea and chlamydia in young people today and sent it to SIL. She was 16 at the time...

DH grew up with it and finds it weird but quite diverting. I just find it weird and sometimes a bit passive-aggressive.

Next Week On Mumsnet in the DM: My in-laws send me passive-aggressive newspaper clippings. What shall I do?

BeccyCat · 15/08/2009 01:23

I'm not saying that family members need to come on here. Are you sure that you're not identifiable just from things you have described on here? I am. And what if its that thats published?
