I think his victory in the EU elections makes him think that he can reveal more of his true true heinous side.

How long before he starts extolling the virtue of gas chambers?

OP posts:
daftpunk · 11/07/2009 21:30

muslims custardo..shouting abuse at our soldiers..

clemette · 11/07/2009 21:31

ROFL - "Muslims" is pretty general don't you think...?

daftpunk · 11/07/2009 21:33

i can't believe i'm the only one who knows about it...i thought you lot were politically savvy??

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 21:33

new immigrant muslims from somalia? first gen british born muslims? i hope you don't think i'm giving you a hard time, dp, you know i like you. i just think that you're swallowing stuff and regurgitating it without a lot of chewing, as it were.

clemette · 11/07/2009 21:36

I think we might read different papers...

You might need to educate us. When? Where? Who? British Muslims? How many?

(BTW I thought you were in favour of free speech. Is it not OK to be anti the actions of the British Army? Or are you allowed if you are British)

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 21:38

i believe you're referring to this?

20 guys demonstrating aggressively? and for these 20 wankers you think it's okay to vote BNP?

daftpunk · 11/07/2009 21:38

aitch..i'm giving you factual information....i'm telling you why people vote BNP..

and i like you too....infact if it wasn't for you, monkeytrousers and about 3 other posters i wouldn't bother coming on here.

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 21:43

20 extremist tossbags, dp, that's not good enough. what they did was despicable, but otoh they were demonstrating against what they see as an unfair fight that's killing civilians. which is a pretty valid point of view. young men with a point to make... well, they're pretty stupid sometimes, regardless or race or creed. and i think they were british.

which brings me back to my question, do you think this bnp asylum fearmongering is just a smokescreen for good old 1970s style 'paki-bashing'?

FAQinglovely · 11/07/2009 21:49

ok there's 20 of the 350,000 a year growth we're suppose to have

what about the other 349,980???

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 21:53

pretty sure they were british, tbh faq. if the telegraph could have slagged them off as asylum seekers or recent immigrants i'm utterly sure they would have. instead they kept it vague with 'muslims'.

FAQinglovely · 11/07/2009 21:56

ahh - ok - so we're still looking for all 350,000 of this years growth spurt I guess

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 21:56

yup they were first generation brits so not part of the immigration problem. unless, as i suspect, the problem really is with asians already here.

although if you read that piece, it seems like asians who were present were mortified and took them to task for giving islam a bad name.

daftpunk · 11/07/2009 21:57

then they should be supporting the british army aitch...don't you think?....i know alot of british people don't agree with the war...but they wont be spitting at our soldiers when they come home.

Bumperslucious · 11/07/2009 21:57

Just to say that I am really enjoying this thread, I like these sorts of discussions, even if I feel I don't have anything to add as I am woefully unknowledgeable about these things.

I think I am for open borders in principle, just because I feel like it is a bit crap to be restricted to the country that you have had the fortune or misfortune to be born in, through no choice of your own. Far better that we all relocate to places that share our own values. The BNP voters could all move to Greenland. Or somewhere that has bears...

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 22:03

maybe they should, maybe they shouldn't. we do live in a democracy, so they're entitled to express their opinion so long as there's no breach of the peace. you have to let that incident go, dp, it's got nothing to do with immigration. other than it's been exploited by the bnp to make stupid, ignorant, at heart racist people vote for them. and i'm not sure that the govt, labour or otherwise, should consider becoming more racist to get those voters back.

what do you think, really, about my question re earlier waves of immigration? you do seem to be avoiding it.

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 22:06

dont' get me wrong btw, i do think there is a problem. we've let education and opportunity slide in some parts of the country, of course i blame thatcher, but labour hasn't done much to repair it. where you get humiliated populations it's very easy for fascism and racism to take hold. but the immigration thing? smokescreen, imo.

Habbibu · 11/07/2009 22:10

Has any correlation ever been established between mother tongue/second language of country of origin, and that of country in which asylum is sought? I've often wondered this, and speculated that if I (and possibly my family) were fleeing torture, we'd try to head for somewhere where the language was at least familiar. The legacy of the British Empire would rather suggest that this would lead many people to head to an English-speaking country.

I have no idea if this is true, just musing.

daftpunk · 11/07/2009 22:11

i don't feel i need to answer that question aitch...i would have thought it was obvious....the BNP have gained popularity in recent years...

and yes, we do live in a democracy..which is why people are entitled to vote BNP if they want to......you know sometimes its the "all BNP voters are ignorant" brigade who annoy me more....you have to understand aitch that maybe politics is changing.

no they're not..

policywonk · 11/07/2009 22:15

I don't know about that Habb - but I have heard that the UK is a popular destination country for those who have extended family here (which makes sense, of course), or for people who know that lots of people from their country/culture are already here. So we're a popular destination for, for example, Pakistani immigrants - more so than, say, France - because there's a sizeable established community.

AitchTwoOh · 11/07/2009 22:16

ignorant in that they don't really know what they're talking about, and are grabbing rationalisations from here there and everywhere to justify their voting bnp...

it's not obvious. i'm trying to talk with you here, swear to god, dp, but you are being evasive. we're not talking about your personal political beliefs, remember, we're talking about how the bnp operates. do you think that the people who are voting for them are actually venting about previous waves of immigration, such as the ones that produced those very few young men?

policywonk · 11/07/2009 22:16

I've never seen anything to suggest that BNP voters are anything but ignorant.

FAQinglovely · 11/07/2009 22:17

Habbibu - the majority of refugees and asylum seekers in the world usually end up just over the border in their neighbouring countries(hence the images we see of vast refugee camps). Those that are lucky enough to have the means to travel further afield to somewhere that is actually safe possibly do head for countries where the language is closer to their own - I'm not sure on that either - but it would make sense.

Tortington · 11/07/2009 22:17

why are the bnp voters ignorant?
