umm, yeah, kids do that kind of thing. attention seeking, a cry for help/love/new trainers no doubt

Well, thank goodness it didn't happen, but what makes a child that age make something like that up???

I'm saddened by the fact that this young girl clearly knew enough about rape to make a plausible allegation.

Eh? Surely if she'd reported a rape she would have been examined and they'd have found out at the time that there was no evidence of any rape?

Very odd.

She must have been pretty convincing as it seems the investigation went on a while. Too many soaps perhaps? I lived next door to a little girl who was far too street wise for her own good, her mother let her watch all the soaps and generally treated her like a teenager at the age of 7.

This is really sad - sounds to me like she is a little confused - poor child.

I thought it was all a bit suspicious at the time - I'm sure there was a thread on it...
